My manger called me in 2 hours early today. I decided I'd show up and help a bit. It was awful, we were down people the whole day and it was so extremely busy. A customer came to the register passing the line of people waiting and began yelling at me about her drink and how she can't wait any longer. I apologize for the wait and check up on her order, and look at that! It's being made right now, so I tell her and she decides she doesn't want the refund but before doing so looks at me and says. You know you're really slow right? I had just completed a mobile order for 10 fucking chocolate croissants warmed up. And I wasn't even the one on bar! Idk. Thanks for listening to my rant guys. How do you deal with customers like this?

I'm notorious for putting on the Disney customer service voice and letting our treasured guest know that we are working as hard as we can to make sure their order is made to perfection.

Honestly I just roll my eyes as soon as I’m not facing them. I put on my best customer service voice and thank them for their patience, but really if they can’t see/recognize that we’re super busy that’s on them.

I'm a shift, so if I were to get a customer like this, I would tell them to adjust their behavior or leave. I've already done it with one woman who gave us hassles back when the mask mandate was still in effect. And once more with a woman who started cussing up a storm because other drinks were coming out before hers - she had several fraps, and the only drinks coming out first were simple hot bar drinks.

Not Starbucks (but previous green bean) and we had someone throw a fit about an order coming out too slow, and after all of the staff behind the counter just stared at her and let her babble, she at least let out a sorry. Sometimes you just have to let them listen to themselves or let themselves out bc we’re all just doing the best we can

I have bad social anxiety and a stutter when I get overwhelmed, so whenever a customer yells at me I start to stutter and get flustered, they usually feel bad and back off
I don’t mean to do it but it’s worked in my favor a few times hah
