Best I’ve seen in a long, long time.
For people who haven’t seen it yet: starting Wednesday you can mark out vanilla in item availability. Also, the app will no longer allow modifications to ice in shaken espressos on mobile orders.

Omg i didnt get a chance to read it. So they have to get regular ice when mobile ordering shaken espressos? Haha nicee! But now im thinking about it and I'm kind of like okay so then what if people try to find a way to get around that by coming in literally right after sending the order through because they want to tell us to do it with light ice or no ice. If they started doing that, it would suck for all stores but especially doing that at a drive thru. I just hope it doesnt become a thing and that people order it in store if they wana modify the ice part

We might see some of that at first, but I think that will be too much effort for most customers to go through. People mobile order because they want to save time and not talk to baristas, so they’ll either order regular ice or get something else. Get ready to offer those extra shot light ice lattes

Lol oh god thats guna be a nightmare. Anytime i start seeing an order for a shaken espresso come thru for mobile, im guna be so hesitant lol cuz idk if the person is guna come in when they pick it up and then get mad that they couldnt do their light ice or no ice
But yea i think some people may do that if thats like one of the only things or their favorite thing to drink. But other than that, I guess it shouldn't happen too often because it's true I mean people mobile order because they want to get their stuff quick and get out so whenever they do show up though, I just hope that there won't be a ton of remakes for them

“mark out” in terms of availability for ordering by customers through MOP—so when a store runs out of vanilla they can automatically make it so no one can order any drink with vanilla syrup in the build (i.e. caramel macchiatos, VSC cold brew, etc.)

Better than having to ask a ton of customers if they want the same drink with no vanilla, something different, or a refund when they arrive at the store to pick up their mobile order

I’m preparing to be screamed at by a woman ordering a venti, no ice, shaken espresso with 12 pumps of white mocha from the passenger side of her boyfriend’s loud truck.

I’m so happy about the shaken espressos!! We have a lady that orders a venti shaken espresso with light ice and light milk and throws a fit when it’s not layered. I’m confident 90% of people have no idea what the shaken espresso is

Mobiles cannot modify ice at all while in store you can do light or heavy ice but there is no longer a “no ice” option

I think it’s mostly for mobiles but I heard that the POS won’t let us make modifications. I could be completely wrong though

From my understanding it’s only mobiles and in store they are still allowed. I’m a bit confused on why they allowed for one way and not the other(s) though. I could be wrong though since I was confused about the whole thing lol.

You can modify the amount of ice in store or in drive through because we can properly charge for milk if it’s over 4oz with light ice. I feel like an easier option would have been to just charge extra for light ice on the app, but I’ll take it.

This girl got mad at me the other day because we ran out of oatmilk so she got a brown sugar with almond. And it didn't look the same because different milk, different viscosity.
Anyways, she's implying that I did my job wrong because it "never looks like this and she gets it like every day and can you shake it because it never looks like this" and I'm trying to explain to her we only ever shake the espresso shots, syrup and ice and I pour the milk over it, just like I did with her current one.
Anyways, during a rush I took her drink back and put it in a shaker and after was like "hey its probably the difference of milk?"
People have no idea what they're ordering.

Glad I’m not the only one that’s had to desperately try to explain that when you remove the ice the layers don’t really stay separated (especially cause I was hurrying and I slammed the oat milk in there), and she’s arguing saying she orders it light ice every time and “it’s always two colours”, I sit there, exhausted, looking stupid, she snaps “whatever! I don’t have time to wait for you to remake it anyway!” and speeds off in a huff 🥲

my store refuses to do shaken espressos with no ice because the shaker will literally explode from pressure anyways. one one person so far has demanded it to be shaken with ice and then strained (maybe we are lucky?) but in this case we will also usually deny shaking with light ice because the shaker lid gets stuck nonetheless. Ik some people are saying on here that they’re worried people will come in as they are placing the order to say it needs to be without/with less ice but personally i’ll be making that shit standard 🤷♀️ “sorry, bud, i just work here”

I love venti pink drinks with no ice 😵💫 like dude it's just gonna blow up in my face. Sometimes I try to explain it, sometimes I just put it through. But shaken with no ice makes no sense at all.

I’ve never had a cold drink with no ice explode in the shaker. Only hot drinks do that because the heat creates pressure….the pink drink stays separated unless you shake it. And that that’s not the quality we serve….

it hasn’t happened to me. We have a regular that orders two grande PD with light ice. I make a trenta with no ice, shake it, and divide the contents between the two cups. it’s never exploded on me. 🤷🏽♀️
