I quit Starbucks (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Infinite_Hope1544
To make a long ass story short,

* Managers who put their own life issues on their baristas deserve to be fired
* Old stinky men who refuse to shower because "they haven't used deodorant in 25 years" and can't make a single drink should not cause the night shift to be a nightmare.
* Managers who complain about being short staffed and straight up ignoring new hires deserve to be fired

So I quit. Don't throw your life away for a corporation who does NOT care about you.

Do you work at my store? 😳 I’m really starting to believe every barista is having a shared experience. Wtf happened to Starbucks? 😭

I don’t work for Starbucks anymore either, but just to play devils advocate there are plenty of people that try their best to make it a great place to work. If you haven’t been a manager, it might be a little hard to understand the amount of pressure the upper management puts on managers at the store level. At some point it becomes a choice of being able to support your family, over risking your job for the barista‘s that don’t actually want to do a good job.

You're so right. I want to quit, I really do I just don't know what's stopping me. I just keep thinking it's probably just as bad at every other job too right? so why bother

Promise you it’s not! Look at job postings and look at reviews of employees. My new job is SO much better

Good for you, sorry it was a bad experience, but it sounds like you’ve at least grown as a person. Drawing a line in the sand for bull crap you’ll tolerate. If a manager or DM cannot bar or do the roles and routines, be nice, but do not kiss their ass, and question them until they are uncomfortable.
