Try to transfer. In the meantime try not to socialize too much. Go to work, do your job, go home. I have to remind myself that coworkers are not friends. I feel like the program is helpful! But in the end whatever is best for your mental health and happiness!

Also I know customers can be nasty and at times is hard to shake but really try your best. Kill ‘em with kindness. Sometimes those few nice customers make it all worth it. Worst case: F*CK CUSTOMER CONNECTIONS lol

Transfer. Get out of there! I pick up shifts at other stores and talk to the baristas there. They’ll have the best info on which stores have good managers. Talk to as many baristas as you can and work at a bunch of stores that you hear are good until you find a good fit. There’s some really wonderful stores out there, and some really awful ones. The baristas in your area will know which ones to avoid

I’m starting ASU in the spring, been here since 18’ & been a shift for about a year. Only took the shift position so I could guarantee my school hours get met. Hopefully it will be worth it, 3-4 more years & I won’t have to do this wagie shit ever again. Shit even if you don’t stay at SB for the entire degree length, every credit you earn is yours to keep/ transfer. Don’t let asu make you feel stuck I see those credit hours as nothing but free money.

i agree with everyone saying transfer. can't beat free education, but i stayed a year through an awful manager (who was eventually demoted before being fired, thank god) and it was genuinely damaging to my confidence about my work and the only other person who stayed through the whole time experienced the same. please do get out of the toxic workplace, but id you're able to transfer to another starbucks it might be a lot better. since my old manager has been gone, my store has grown into a comfortable place. but i shouldn't have dealt with that for a year. you deserve a comfortable workplace.

We have people getting fired for using curse words and this supervisor is still here? Wow. The dm needs to go too. Why not start treating that supervisor how she is. If u can’t kill her with kindness, kill her with hate.

have all of them go above the DM and directly to ethics https://businessconduct.eawebline.com

So I’m in ASU now, last year they paid $15k and I only have to pay taxes on about a grand of that. Learn to distance yourself and not take anything personal. End of the day, whomever does what, they have to live with themselves and you get the chance to leave them (they’re stuck with themselves!) breathe. You’ll be okay. I personally think it’s worth it because I was an ED tech prior and made $16/hr…and as sad as it is, I get paid more to be a barista.
