•1) Take care of your mental health. A job is a job. If you need a break, tell them you need 2 seconds. Take advantage of the free Headspace subscription
•2) Don't be afraid to ask for help. It's better & easier to learn the right habits/recipes now, then it is to unlearn bad habits later.
•3) Socialize with your partners. They can make or break your entire experience. Be proactive in starting conversations. Always compliment a flat white. Give out apron cards like candy. They're free to use. Even a "thanks for a great shift!" is always appreciated
•4) Always try to connect with a customer. As soon as someone walks in, "Hi!! Welcome!"
(Our DM and manager are big on this)
•5) Don't leave Sharpies laying around and don't lend them, you'll never get them back. * This one is only kind of serious.
•6) Make yourself a cheat sheet for your apron pocket. You can find a break down of key recipes as a PDF on Reddit. You'll need it.
•7) Compliment customers if you don't know what to talk to them about, especially in drive thru when you're keeping them occupied.
These are the things I've learned at my store. Good luck! 💚💚
