when and how to enroll in the lyra therapy? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by idkcassie
I’m a returning partner coming back as an SSV. I left in May of 2021 but hadn’t utilized many of the benefits, namely the free therapy and I would like to coming back. I’m in a very bad headspace right now and would like to as soon as possible. I start my barista basics at a store closer to me than where I’m gonna be an SSV on nov. 1st and then nov. 7th I do my first sip with my sm and start my SSV training.

That said, how long does it take to get to see a therapist? Are there parameters about what I can use the therapy for? I’ve never been to a therapist so any help/insight is appreciated.

to add, mine is trained in many therapy styles. she explained all of them to me and discussed what my needs were. i guess it depends on the therapist.

You can get started at https://starbucks.lyrahealth.com/. You get 20 free sessions per year, Oct 1 - Sept 30. Sessions are 50 minutes each. You are eligible immediately on your hire date and there’s no minimum hours you have to work to keep the benefit.

When you join Lyra, you’ll have to create a profile and answer some questions about why you are seeking treatment. You’ll be able to select from a list of therapists Lyra recommends based on your answers. All of the therapists on Lyra are licensed and trained in $1 but they are not medical practitioners and cannot prescribe medication.

It depends on the availability of the therapist you choose, but you should be able to get your first session within 2 weeks of signing up. It’s important to have a good relationship with your therapist and for you to feel they understand you, so it can take time to find the right one and it’s okay if you don’t like the first one you see. But it’s a great resource. A great therapist can make a huge difference in your life.
