I feel like you’ve had a reason to quit much before this, your SM is awful. See it through if you wish to, seems with how your SM behaves you’d have little hope in transferring.

Starbucks is full of managers, but almost no leaders. I recently quit Sbux after being a SSV for over 3-years. I loved my team and the job was fun, but my god, the management at Sbux is truly awful. They have no care about what goes on in the store, so long as it’s profitable. Even then, my former SM would routinely close the store early if someone called out rather than go in and work the store themself. The DM seemingly didn’t care that our store frequently closed early considering we never heard anything from our DM or regional director about this. I even recently found out that my store was without an acting SM for over 3 weeks, despite everyone in my store only being told that our SM was “watching” another store while that store’s SM was on vacation. 3 weeks without any manager. This, in addition to my SM scheduling half of a Sunday with all trainees and no trainers, or having multiple trainees at night with only one SSV on schedule and no trainers assigned on the DCR, etc…

I’ve gone through four DM at my time with Sbux, and all of them exhibited the same lack of care about customers and partners alike.

Sbux wouldn’t be pushing so hard against unions if they weren’t so afraid of them. Keep fighting for the rights of partners. You all deserve leadership that cares, not managers who can only quote corporate policies.

If the job isn’t making you feel happy/fulfilled you should quit. Starbucks is absolutely NOT worth it. They feed you all sorts of propaganda about how they’re not a “normal” company, they’re special, offer more benefits, better culture, etc etc. the reality is they’re not special and you could find another job that pays similarly and offers similar benefits extremely easily. So I don’t see why people hold onto the job so tightly when they’re so unhappy. Just quit. You’ll be glad you did when you find something that’s not so stressful and dramatic

If you could pull it off you should talk to your other coworkers and schedule a walk out, plan to all quit on the same day

It may not help but who knows

I had a job with someone like this. After I was blunt with them about how their management style made me and the rest of the store feel, they genuinely tried to change. I think the biggest thing you can do for yourself is be honest with them. You havent got much to lose if you've already thought about quitting, right? "So, I just wanted to bring this up. It's something I've observed and I think it's important to share another perspective"
