It’s supposed to be warming, but here warming rarely gets the time to do so. In reality it’s just whoever happens to be able to.

I work in a cafe store and we have a designated front register person (only if it’s busy) other than that, it’s usually the shift supervisor who takes orders and other things when it’s slow

I work mornings, for the most part it’s either the person on warming also covering the front register or whoever is on CS. When we’re busy and have enough people on the floor, we’ll have designated front person, who will also do brewing and help with CS when they can. If we’re really well staffed, which happens rarely, we may have a designated front person and a CS, so then front helps run food and restock food for warming, plus front register and CS does brewing and normal CS stuff.

Usually it’s front/warming as a combo position. Sometimes if it’s slower and DT can grab their own food, then CS covers front. We only ever have a designated front person if it’s super busy and we’re adequately staffed.

Front is a dedicated position at peak, then it’s front/warming as a combo, until the last 2 ish hours during close, we don’t get many cafe customers in the evenings, so it’s sort of CS, sort of whoever can grab it.

Warming but if you have enough people, then CS should cover.
