Does the Mocha Cookie Crumble get mocha drizzle on the bottom, or only cookie crumble shakes? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by SeasonedBarista
The PICTURE on the store resources iPad SHOW mocha drizzle on the iPad but the ingredient card only says cookie crumble shakes on the bottom of the beverage, on top of the whip cream.

I’ve seen seasoned baristas do drizzle, my new store manager did drizzle, but I’m under the impression via recipe card that it’s only cookie crumble shakes.

The recipe card PICTURE on the iPad shows drizzle, I’m pretty sure. I just googled it and pictures also show drizzle but I STG the recipe card does not say drizzle, it only says cookie crumble shakes.

I’m not asking to prove anyone else wrong besides myself zzz thanks

We've had this debate many times lol. The picture looks like mocha drizzle but if you look closer you'll notice that it actually is just cookie crumbles. It looks like mocha drizzle, but it is not.
dazedandconfusedhere 87 points 8m ago
This! It’s supposed to be 7 shakes which comes out to A LOT of cookie crumble, which makes it look kinda like drizzle
Vegan_Sweetie 70 points 8m ago
Umm—what?? 7 shakes of cookie crumbles? I’ve been doing this wronnng. I’ll up-scale my shaking game now! 🥲
ProjectJupiter 34 points 8m ago
I don't know anyone that does 7 shakes lol don't worry
Chromosomes23 26 points 8m ago
I feel you there I’m doing 2 shakes like the cinnamon
darkwolf523 2 points 8m ago
It’s fine
ricardimus 1 points 8m ago
Lol sameeeeeeeee for like 3 years now
awesomechief989 1 points 8m ago
Dw I thought it was 10 XD. I never do that unless someone asks for extra though
distractedstonergirl 1 points 8m ago
seven shakes for all sizes ? why aren’t they different amount of shakes for each size 😭🤣
P_2_P 1 points 8m ago
Yup. 7 shakes on the bottom 4 on top
neilgreenbreen 112 points 8m ago
I really do not understand why the two layered fraps are built identically in every way except this one part. Incredibly annoying
diphenhydranautical 48 points 8m ago
just the other day i was told that caramel ribbon crunches do not get crunch on the bottom, only dark caramel…i’ve been making them with crunch on the bottom for over a year and never been told anything else!
pyarmids 30 points 8m ago
I’d learned crunches at the bottom when I was trained and it wasn’t until a solid year and a half in that only dark caramel goes in the bottom 🥲 it’s a really weird standard I wish the drinks were consistent with each other
lilminch 17 points 8m ago
to be fair they taste much better with the crunch on the bottom
thebestdaysofmyflerm 2 points 8m ago
Since when??
diphenhydranautical 5 points 8m ago
idk! my shift told me that a week or so ago, i was trained to put caramel AND crunch on the bottom so idk
Brgnbo 5 points 8m ago
I always thought they both got drizzle and topping at the bottom and then I was corrected and they only get drizzle on the bottom AND NOW THIS it’s like I don’t even work at Starbucks
jack5114 0 points 8m ago
I was always trained with a quote to help me remember and I'm a trainer who uses this quote I'm fairly certain unless things changed since I left "if it gets chips it gets drizz" pretty much java chip frap, mocha cookie crumble and double chocolate chip all get mocha drizzle
Prudent_Age_6926 32 points 8m ago
Starbucks changes the recipes on so many things, it gives a lot of older partners whiplash. But, when I was trained on bar by someone who had been with Starbucks for twenty years last February I was shown only crumbles on the bottom for MCCF. They also showed me only dark caramel on the bottom for CRCF. These were the up to date standards on the drink as per the recipe cards and on the iPad.
toasterstrudelboy 11 points 8m ago
I honestly wish they just printed the recipe boxes on the sticker at this point.
foxxy_roxxy 2 points 8m ago
ive been with the company for 8 years and i literally complain about this all the time. i just found out a few months ago that the salted caramel cold brew gets vanilla im the drink not caramel like it used to when it 1st came out. or that cold brews no matter the favor get half pumps not full pumps anymore no clue when that one changed lol
imlivinginurwall 30 points 8m ago
it only gets the crumble on the bottom
Sorensuke 13 points 8m ago
As per my asm, the posters/promotions are made to look pretty sell drinks and are typically overdone. The recipe cards in your store resources app are the correct way to make the drink. In this case 7 shakes on the bottom bit of whipped cream.
radpandaparty 6 points 8m ago
Crumbles only
gabby24681 6 points 8m ago
I had the same confusion with the picture but it’s just an illusion lol. 8 shakes on bottom, 4 on top, drizzle only on top, I believe is what the recipe card says. My numbers could be wrong though.
Coffee-Bae 3 points 8m ago
you're close, it's 7 shakes on the bottom, but you're right about the rest.
MasterMischievous 3 points 8m ago
I’ll take 1000 for “I don’t care”.
Gingerzygote 3 points 8m ago
i've heard both ways, but i must just say under this thread, why the hell do caramel frappes have drizzle by default and mochas don't???? corporate keep it consistent pls
logiwave 3 points 8m ago
I stopped caring and just give both layered fraps drizzle and topping on the bottom whip. tastes better that way anyway
lilkiosk 3 points 8m ago
Only cookie on the bottom no drizzle on the bottom basically the exact opposite of caramel ribbon crunch which only gets dark caramel in the bottom and not the crunch
Human_Ad1008 2 points 8m ago
Only on the top. Only 2 items on the bottom, whip + Cookie or whip + dark Carmel.
3aTroop 2 points 8m ago
Recipe card instructions are what should be followed.
jazzysoranio 2 points 8m ago
It used to have mocha drizzle before and they changed it a couple years ago. It’s like how hot chocolate used to have mocha drizzle on top and one pump of vanilla in it and they got rid of that a couple years ago too. But some people have just been in the habit for so long. Starbucks corporate really overestimates just how much people are actually going to reference the recipe cards, and how many things we’re actually going to be able to memorize and then change and re-memorize.
rosebudftw 2 points 8m ago
it’s actually cookie crumbles u can tell on the display
foxxy_roxxy 1 points 8m ago
8 year partner here. i only put crumbles on the bottom then drizzle on top. we've had this discussion at my store many times and theres no in-between some of us just do crumbles others do both on the bottom.
Wonderful-Put-5972 1 points 8m ago
Only crumbs on the bottom...7 shakes if you follow the recipe and 4 on the top wc with drizzle, which should be in a spiral pattern, not a cross hatch pattern. Thank you for asking and for following the recipe.
sydneypaul17 1 points 8m ago
idk honestly, i do drizzle and crumbles on bottom, crumbles on top bc it’s easier and i don’t rly think customers care THAT much lol

I was trained and told it gets the drizzle and crumbs on bottom and top. I personally think it don't matter as long as the customer is happy tbh
Impressive_Yellow_86 0 points 8m ago
Idk, I forget sometimes and do one or the other. It's confused me so much too that I've just done whatever the other person on shift does.
themosttotaltrashh -3 points 8m ago
who cares
moldygiraffes -2 points 8m ago
I do three dots along the outside so it looks more like the picture and less likely I will have to remake a frap.
Ceramicusedbook -10 points 8m ago
If it gets chip, it drips.

It gets drizzle. Every drink that gets chocolate chips gets drizzle.

Edit: In Canada. $1
ProjectJupiter 12 points 8m ago
Only drizzle on top, not on the bottom.
Ceramicusedbook -9 points 8m ago
Not in Canada. We do both.
ProjectJupiter 7 points 8m ago
I looked at the link, it's the same as the US. Read the description. Only cookies crumbles on top
Ceramicusedbook -7 points 8m ago
🤷‍♀️ Every one I've ever gotten well before working here has always had both, and everyone at my store has been trained to do both. If it chips it drips. Even our oldest partner will say that.
