not pulling three shots?? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Exact_Meeting_991
my store has the new machines and they always break down and the last time the maintenance man came he told us to not pull with the three shot button,,,, it’s like so inconvenient especially pulling blonde shots 🙃 has anyone else been told this?

yeah i noticed when pulling blonde shots in 3s it says that the water flow is low so i just pull 2 and 1

So, the machine was actually not built to grind that large amount of coffee for a triple shot which is why it harms the calibration and water flow. That’s what the tech told me. If you time it, a double and a single shot is actually faster than the triple shot button

Another thing to not do is vacuuming the hoppers; if you need to, just vaccuum them once a week. Vaccuuming the beans out of the machine will harm the calibration and lead to watery shots

Wait...this is a thing? Did your tech say this or another partner?

My dude, thank you for posting this. I reviewed the SCEMM for the MII and your tech is right - the manual says only vacuum the feeders once a week. Hell, I didn't even know we're only supposed to wash the hoppers once a week, too. Hopefully the change in our routine sees more consistent pulls. Our machines have constantly been having issues since I started last August. And probably from before that.

At night, when you put the hoppers back in you may notice that it’s hard to put them in as there are beans left. You can avoid this by making sure the black lever is pulled all the way to the top before you take out each hopper. If you notice that you are having trouble putting the hopper back in after this, just carefully scoop out the beans until you’re able to successfully put the hoppers back in.

Yeah, us too until we stopped vaccuuming all the time. We used to have to call in the machine like 1-2 a week and after we finally switched to vacuuming once a week; our machines didn’t get called in for 3 months straight.
