Cringey moments (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Newbarista-nerd
Was so nervous to start today that when asked to brew coffee I had brain fog and flippin’ put the coffee beans into the coffee filter first 😭 I immediately redeemed myself but oh my goodness

& while on DTR my register froze up a bit and couldn’t find the “next order” button so I was asking around, no one was avail to help, I then asked my DTO with the headset on and she full on shushed me with her pointer finger too I’m like bruh what’s going on today..

What have been your cringiest moments !?

I’ve been in coffee for over four years and I did the same thing with the beans last week, so don’t feel bad about it. Sometimes you’re just too tired or brainfried to function lol

my cringiest moment probably happened today! first morning shift ever and i was doing DTO and DTR while coworker had their ten… well turns out i’m not the best multitasker and went through about two orders by the time i got to the lady at the ordering window… needless to say she didn’t sound happy about having to wait maybe 5 minutes, which I understand lol. I just felt like a fool because I completely forgot that there was someone waiting for their order. green bean attitude lol

TOTALLY understandable at times like the mental & task overload is insane, a human brain can only handle so much. I’d feel so nervous opening up that window 😂 but you know what it happens, we learn and we keep going !

Today I flooded a counter first thing this morning by forgetting I was filling a cube with water and another partner had to clean it up. When I tried to apologize to her she said "It's 430 in the morning, it's understandable."

There is zero reason for your DTO to SHUSH you. That's rude as hell. I understand there's a goal for both order and at the window times, but getting the person at the window handled faster means more room in the drive thru to take more orders, so it shortens both. If I'm on DTO and my DTR is having an issue whoever is at the speaker can wait a damn minute.

Omg honestly this thread is helping me to remind myself that we are all just HUMAN and these silly things happen because we are on complete mental & even physical overload🥲

Yup she shushed me and put her pointer finger up to me , at first I laughed it off but when I got home I thought about it and my blood was boiling. I was literally standing there with a frozen register for 5+ mins

One morning I was super groggy...the usual, you know. Opening in auto pilot. I brewed the ice coffee and teas, poured, took the baskets out and promptly dumped both in the sink instead of the trash can. It was terrible. I died.

This reminds me when I accidentally poured out the coffee that was freshly brewed instead of the one that was old. I love us, we are so human
