why are customers so rude? and lack basic manners?

we had a massive rush today and I was soloing DTO and DTW. This lady rolls up and i said hi, was kind to her, despite the fact she was being all rude. She looked over my shoulder and saw two ice cups sitting on the counter that I was trying to fill with her ice, but had to run over to take someone’s order she kept yelling at me until I finally told the person to hold up and turn to ask her what was up. She was like if those two ice cups behind you are mine make sure to fill them up to the top. I smiled and said “yup give me just a second”. I grabbed her money (she payed cash) and apologized to her for the wait, i asked if she would hold on for one second while i quickly typed the next customers order in (our stores priority is taking the orders) she rolled her eyes and said something under her breath. I had just started typing in the first drink when she LAYED IT ON THE HORN.

i was so caught off guard when i relized it was for me
“give me my da*n change” she yelled. the baristas in the store, turned to look at what was happening and I was just absolutely pissed off. I gave her, her dime. yes she honked at me over a dime. told her to have a nice day and went back to doing what I was doing. Even my shift supervisor was irritated w her.

i’m still a newer partner and not used to it all so these things really bother me.

what gives you the right to think that honking at someone is a normal thing to do. we are still humans. please treat us with respect, especially if you see we are struggling.
