Last day is approaching and I have sick time to use (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by amazing_redhead
So I technically have enough protected sick time to call out the remainder of my shifts. Would it be frowned upon to do so? I know we get paid out our PTO but is it the same for sick time?

I officially announce you sick!

You don’t owe the company anything.

I did the same before I left my corporate store to go to a Tarbucks! My SM marked me unrehireable and now I can’t get another corporate store to hire me back in. If you’re 100% certain you’re leaving the company, go for it!

That's common practice for most companies if you call in sick for your last 2 weeks. You didn't work your last 2 weeks, so basically gave no notice.

you can write it in if you want, doesn’t mean your sm is going to abide by it. it can absolutely get your sm in trouble with corporate so don’t count on it. you may also be marked as nonrehireable for it.

you can only call out for 3 days in a row sick before you need to fill out a leave of absence.
