Idk How My Customers Survived, Could this get my Manager fired? I’m a licensed Store (NorCal) I’m from (AZ) and the Standard seem to be Below Sea-Level Here.(reddit.com)

Bruh get off reddit and send these to your health department 🤢
FoundationOk2479 [OP]163 points8m ago
Nawh, I Sent it to Corporate of the Company, and Timed it Correctly to boot my Managers off his position, it’s so gross how he thinks his kiosks is “Cleanest in the District” bruh the fact he also put his hands into the hopper of the espresso machine💀 Plus the guys work for 14 years, and barely knows how to clean the Oven.
neilgreenbreen295 points8m ago
Okay but please also call the health department. Corporate will sweep it under the rug if they think it’s a liability or bad press
Torirock10109 points8m ago
well i’m glad you’re doing basically nothing abt it
FoundationOk2479 [OP]44 points8m ago
Manager is Friends with the Health Department Inspector and Ecolab Auditor, and he just gets a Reminder rather than a fireable Offense, also district manager is very Lenient with my store standards, seem to only care about stores near the Corporate Office, thinking on Calling Another Division of the Company and try to get them involved
nikkicarter1111116 points8m ago
Then contact OSHA. Your coworkers are drinking this too, yeah?
Jesslynnlove16 points8m ago
So, you can put your hand in the hopper, that is allowable.
Also, those ovens are borderline spotless compared to corporate stores.
My tip: do yourself a favor and just leave your licensed store for a legitimate starbucks. Literal net gain across the board.
uwumoment17 points8m ago
as a person at a corporate store, our ovens do not look like that 💀
capsule_of_anxiety16 points8m ago
Yeah I used to work in a corporate store and our ovens never looked like that, we cleaned them daily
Jesslynnlove4 points8m ago
My store is extremely clean but ive covered some of the dt’s in the area and theirs are black.
FoundationOk2479 [OP]-1 points8m ago
I would, but the Corporate store is not hiring, and plus I think their cutting hours Right now for them, their store hours are very limited. Also they say their understaff but they don’t seem to hire new people, from what I can tell.
glooomyclone407758 points8m ago

Health department is a Joke in NorCal, Literally said we’re the cleanest Starbucks in the district ☠️ also my Manager is Friends with the Health Inspector, Ecolab Auditor, and District Mangers of Starbucks Corp.,and Safeway Corp; also He Has Seniority an we’re a Union Store so it’s even harder to Fire him.
BatWeary19 points8m ago
if you’re the cleanest in the district i’d hate to see what the rest look like 🤢
FoundationOk2479 [OP]8 points8m ago
Yep, went to the Corporate Location and saw the Steaming pitchers, that were Brown inside, and unfortunately selling sandwiches cold when oven was down😬
rudebii9 points8m ago
Then you escalate it to the county leadership, or your state representative.
FoundationOk2479 [OP]6 points8m ago
Yeah, but I put in a report, just waiting Rn, hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday something happens

I’ve worked at a Starbucks in NorCal before, it was a million times cleaner than this one. And this sorta thing would not fly in most districts in this area. Idk which one you are part of but I’m sure that others in your district are cleaner and someone’s lying to you about it.
im_a_pimp1 points8m ago
managers aren’t part of the union though?
FoundationOk2479 [OP]3 points8m ago
i’m in a grocery store location, and the store is unionized, and The Kiosk manager is Considered a Department Manager, which is based on Wage rather than Salary like a Store Director or Assistant Director or even a Store Administrator (Which Aren’t Unionized).

The thing is, the Manager says, “it’s the Closers Job to insure the Machines are clean”, also he doesn’t train how to close and just bashes them about how bad they did. And no one does Pre-closing tasks, so I have to do two jobs essentially. Trust me I have to continuously read the store Operations Guide book, to fix these issues and constantly make every close a deep clean. One more thing, he’s Very Very Anti-Union, Ironically he work for a Unionized store.
[deleted]9 points8m ago
[deleted]
FoundationOk2479 [OP]7 points8m ago
Also, they don’t Have any Certified trainers, and the only one that is, doesn’t Certify 🫠 any the Trainee’s. Also he said No when I request if I can be Certified Trainer, but yet makes me Train them anyway🙄.
Vegan_Sweetie2 points8m ago
Ummm…. Wut.
Your store needs help/intervention. 😢
uwumoment3 points8m ago
i was about to say these are all either midday tasks or closing tasks, but if he’s not training the baristas how to do it obviously they won’t do it
FoundationOk2479 [OP]1 points8m ago
Yeah, it’s a lil frustrating, trying to get Corporate involved and Waiting for health Departments to respond
Torirock1032 points8m ago
report it report it report it
Keyndoriel17 points8m ago
Fuck corporate. They hide dms doing sex crimes they wont do shit about this. Health department. Anyone that'll give sbux a very hard time.
jambaintoyou5 points8m ago
This is a licensed store (Safeway) not a corporate problem. Sounds more like a Safeway problem than anything.
FoundationOk2479 [OP]3 points8m ago
Well, Starbucks has Higher Authority when it comes to Standards, Kiosk Operations, and quality Safeway Has Higher Authority for HR Problems, Payroll, Maintenance, Sales, and Staffing.
Cauliflower2915 points8m ago
God pls tell me the location so I can never go
FoundationOk2479 [OP]8 points8m ago
Trust me this is the “Cleanest Location”, Ironically said by my Health Inspector
Cauliflower2910 points8m ago
I was a licensed store in NorCal but Target and the same was said about our store. It was not clean at all🫣
FoundationOk2479 [OP]3 points8m ago
Yep, ironically my Manager is From a Target Store, and trust me I’m not impressed by him, in my book the kiosk is failing standards. Also the kiosk has constant Ice machine Leaks and pretty sure under the floor it’s molding.
fightnroundtheworld15 points8m ago
Not only could it, it should.
FoundationOk2479 [OP]8 points8m ago
Surprisingly it seemed to be a slap on the hand😔 for my manager, basically blamed the rest of the team and Closers specifically
aspiringgrandpa14 points8m ago
this is why i never go to licensed stores sorry ☠️
heyitsmaria245 points8m ago
I have a friend who works for licensed & they require deep cleaning every night. When I told her we do clean play at my corporate store once a week, she freaked out. We clean regularly but not deep clean.
FoundationOk2479 [OP]0 points8m ago
Don’t blame you, but Corporates stores can be just as bad, I’ve call out a few Store managers a few times and coffee masters; sometimes outwit them when it comes to standards.
miniinovaa2 points8m ago
Do you just go to random stores and test them on standards? Lmao
FoundationOk2479 [OP]3 points8m ago
Sometimes, but usually only when it’s not in the middle of a rush, it’s more of a reminder, yes I know it’s annoying; I guess I’m an asshole for that, but I proudly take it, if I’m not being an asshole who will, I’m like that grandma that won’t die.
miniinovaa6 points8m ago
Why waste your time lmao you’re not getting paid enough for that shit. But if you wanna seem like an underpaid asshole that’s on you haha
popping-boba12 points8m ago
Real lack of cleaning and common knowledge here
FoundationOk2479 [OP]5 points8m ago
Trust me, I’ve tried, but honestly it’s over whelming for me and pretty much had it, and getting corporate involved, if nothing changes I’ll get OSHA involved, and health department
popping-boba5 points8m ago
Why don’t you clean the ice machine and use some hot water and comet cleaner on the floor?
FoundationOk2479 [OP]4 points8m ago
Couldn’t reach that part of the ice machine, I had to get another employee to pry it open so I could take a picture, also I was already 30 mins overtime
shelinator888 points8m ago
I'm going to not name the exact store, but I am also from AZ and worked at a corporate store in San Pablo California (bay area) for a while and MY GOD was it absolutely disgusting - just like these photos. It was so nasty. The employees were horrible too... Every sm would close the store between 1-2 hours a early cuz they wanted to go home, no one would clean the Mastrenas on a daily basis, there were piles of rotting food in there drains and under the fridges. They would never clean pitchers before remaking sweet cream. The chair e in the back for breaks was literally broken. No one sanitized the front or high touch points ever. No one enforced proper dating/FIFO practices. They would tell customers they were out of something instead of checking the back or because they didn't feel like making it.
A shit show. A literal shit show.
FoundationOk2479 [OP]5 points8m ago
Yeah, it’s really sad for me to see things like this, I can’t really do effective cleaning if no one’s doing their tasks throughout the day. For me it seem in AZ Division it was stricter, probably because the DM, being Here in NorCal Division, kinda Sucks I just find it sad seeing store have to put a sign they past health inspection, because it must have been pretty bad before that was required.
Apprehensive-You52611 points8m ago
Remind me to never go to a Starbucks in california
[deleted]1 points8m ago
Happily! **clears throat**....
DON'T GO TO STARBUCKS IN NORTHERN CALI!
TheYesExpress6 points8m ago
This is a horror story
FoundationOk2479 [OP]3 points8m ago
Would be great for Kitchen (Kiosk) Nightmares
dnims246 points8m ago
Wait what store is this at??? I was originally from a store in financial district San Fran and from what I could tell my store (and even ones I traveled to sometimes) seemed fine but now I’m questioning my entire existence (not a manager btw).
FoundationOk2479 [OP]5 points8m ago
I’m from Humboldt County (NorCal Division) and there only one Safeway with a Starbucks in the area, Vice President of the Division visited but didn’t Visit my store😞.
jazzysoranio5 points8m ago
What’s sad is how common that’s become. Starbucks used to be big on things like cleaning but now we’re super focused on just drive thru times and customer connection scores. They still expect the cleaning to get done, but they’ve taken away most of our ability to do it by making us busy from open until close, only giving us the minimum resources to only take care of customers and nothing else, and piling on so many other responsibilities that cleaning ends up getting prioritized last.
FoundationOk2479 [OP]2 points8m ago
Yeah, at this point, seems like I’m finding new Things on how dirty this kiosk really is. Currently waiting for health Department to respond
eb_mcmeme5 points8m ago
Absolutely report this. However, that oven interior looks pretty normal to what I’ve seen.
BBQUEENMC5 points8m ago
CALL THE HEALTH INSPECTOR AND REPORT THAT !!
FoundationOk2479 [OP]2 points8m ago
Already did
BigDillLadyPickle4 points8m ago
Absolutely disgusting report to health immediately! People can get very sick from the mold and mildew!
FoundationOk2479 [OP]4 points8m ago
The report is being “Processed”, so hopefully something happens, I was off for the day, so something probably already happened
BigDillLadyPickle3 points8m ago
Oh good!
princess-sprinkles3 points8m ago
as someone from a norcal corporate starbucks, our store never has looked like this, not even close. we get reprimanded just for grinds being left behind machines. you need to contact the health department, osha, corporate for your licensed store, starbucks corporate and i would even say your manager’s higher up in store. send them all these pictures. they will not be okay with it, because their jobs depend on it, i promise you. if it seems like nobody wants to do anything, i would contact news outlets and look for another job. this store looks like it is carrying diseases.
FoundationOk2479 [OP]1 points8m ago
Contacted Corporate, and waiting for Health Department to take action
neighborhoodswamphag3 points8m ago
I’d call the health inspector but hear me out….call them as a customer. tell them you saw unsafe practices and complain about the dirt and grime. They won’t take workers seriously. But if you make a few complaints as a “customer” they’ll be more proactive. Something similar happened at an old store of mine. I ended up making anonymous yelp and google reviews and had to call the health department under a different name in order to get the kiosk properly managed. At the end of the day if you threaten their image they’ll be forced to do something about it.
Glittering_7373 points8m ago
Do they not do closing tasks properly?? No clean play?? No one that properly cleans the floors even throughout the day??
FoundationOk2479 [OP]3 points8m ago
Closer are too busy doing other task, especially all the mid shift tasks, and clean play aren’t scheduled because of limited hours, and floors have been clean, took an 8 hour shift, but Ice is the deepest Concern, waiting for them to respond
verkruuze3 points8m ago
Hi, public health inspector here.
Yikes. Tell someone and get this cleaned ASAP, its filthy and should not be in service.
FoundationOk2479 [OP]2 points8m ago
Majority, has been dealt with, except the Ice Machine, waiting for Health Department to Respond
converse_ing3 points8m ago
Everyone is responsible for the cleaning of the store .
FoundationOk2479 [OP]2 points8m ago
Yep, I tried cleaning it, Ice Machine is something I barely discovered, and Right now Waiting on something to happen when it come to Store Operations, the Floors been Cleaned, Ovens been Scrubbed, Right now it been Mentally Exhausting trying figure out what’s still needs to be recorrected or reported.
froggiebog2 points8m ago
please call your health department omg
sp00kygiirl2 points8m ago
what a horrible day to have eyes
FoundationOk2479 [OP]1 points8m ago
Yeppers
baristaaf12112 points8m ago
Technically your clean play crew’s fault. It’s supposed to be cleaned once per month maybe even twice, or every week depending on your store.
HarleyLeMay2 points8m ago
Still falls on management for not correcting the clean play crew if they’re not doing their job properly.
FoundationOk2479 [OP]1 points8m ago
Store Director doesn’t schedule clean play, and Kiosk manager doesn’t enforce it
Swimming-Fee-24452 points8m ago
Omg that’s disgusting. You need to report that. Customers could get very sick
FoundationOk2479 [OP]2 points8m ago
Waiting for health departments to respond
2TheTea2 points8m ago
Call health department and ask for a different inspector if you can.
FoundationOk2479 [OP]1 points8m ago
I’ll ask again, hopefully they do
vegan-trash2 points8m ago
Next time my manager mentions under the fridges I’m showing this
FoundationOk2479 [OP]1 points8m ago
Yep
Minimum_Economist_792 points8m ago

FoundationOk2479 [OP]1 points8m ago

FoundationOk2479 [OP]1 points8m ago
