Shift Forward Program (self.starbucksbaristas)

I posted this in r/starbucks as well

My district is currently doing the Shift Forward program; a class teaching shift supervisors how to be successful ASMs and SMs (as far as I know).

ASM is the next step in my career with Starbucks, and I really want to be included in this class, but the flier says it’s really competitive.

I’m going through and writing out practice responses to the application now, but I’m wondering if anybody has done the program already and has any tips on what kinds of answers they’re looking for?

I know to be answering the question in STAR format, but I’m not quite sure how long these responses should be, especially because it’s all written and the application is on a Google Form. But I’ve followed the STAR format for my answers and they are tending to run a little bit long. I’ll be doing some editing of course, but I’m still not quite sure how long I should be curating these responses for.

TLDR; has anyone done the shift forward program and have any tips for applications?
