Yea that’s shitty on their end- also it should be correct for inventory.

pastelldillann 43 points 8m ago
Didn’t say anything as I was leaving but she definitely blew up my phone after I was gone talking about “writing me up” as if i was coming back LMAO. Blocked 😍😜
elinor435 16 points 8m ago

baebaebluebird 3 points 8m ago
I love that for you
philosopher_cat_lady 17 points 8m ago
Good for you. I used to ask my SSV's to move me to another position off drive and they'd just not respond to me. I also was not ever allowed to become an actual barista after *two years*. I was a drive-thru cashier, to the point that my brain would go mushy. After two years of asking to be taken off drive, you just stop asking. Complete garbage company.

I’m worried that is going to happen to me. My store regularly puts me on DTR, sometimes I will do DTO or both if needed. I am rarely put on bar. On Sunday I was scheduled for “training” and my entire day was DTR and one super gross trash run. I don’t even know they are calling it training at this point. I’ve been working at Starbucks for maybe 2 or 3 months and some people who have been at my store for less than I have are barring consistently. It sucks.
philosopher_cat_lady 2 points 8m ago
I talked about how I gave up, but I didn't, really. Keep on trying. Tell your SM, then tell your DM if it continues for awhile. My training also went shittily. It was a combination of bad management and Starbucks' purposeful understaffing.
Mr-Yoop 1 points 8m ago
Why does Starbucks purposefully understaff? Just to save money?
philosopher_cat_lady 1 points 8m ago
Yes
yvesagain 1 points 8m ago
That's definitely terrible but an FYI, sometimes managers will schedule people for "training" because they've run out of coverage/non-coverage hours for the week but still need people on the floor. If you're inexplicably being scheduled for training and not being trained I would clarify w the ssv/sm to see if that's the case
philosopher_cat_lady 1 points 8m ago
I would also tattle to your DM about the incorrect scheduling. One time I did that and my SM seemed peeved at me and explained that she scheduled me noncoverage since she had no coverage hours. Like yeah, I already knew that. I just wanted corporate to know you're so pressed for more labor that you're lying to them.

Good for you🫶🏻you deserve better
PTOKEN 2 points 8m ago
Wait, people don’t normally DTO and window simultaneously? Have I been trained fo do extra work??
pastelldillann 3 points 8m ago
No no, soloing is normal, but not during peak. On top of that, what’s also not normal is ignoring somebody who is very clearly burning out on the position. What’s not normal is a supervisor ignoring their employee asking for help :/
Cheedanish 3 points 8m ago
What shift do you normally work? During a perfect 6-person morning peak there’s a DTO (order taking) and a DTR (window), but from late midday-close usually it’s flexed out into one position.
PTOKEN 1 points 8m ago
I dont work there anymore but i would work the 8-4 shift we had
floofxs2 2 points 8m ago
It’s supposed to be two during peak times but short staffing I did DTO/Window at a HV drive through more times than I’d like to remember.
Cultural-Ad1167 1 points 8m ago
Technically, ✨yes✨, it is INDEED the job of two people! But corporate can only “justify” the adequate amount of people for peak time, so the majority of the day (1) partner double up/solo/flex DTO/DTW.
There’s only a few people I trust as my DTO though, I usually get lower times doubling up as long as my DT bar and warmer are on a good rhythm.
