This is a common human resources practice. If you want to avoid this you can use a separate email, not use your phone number, don't have it searchable by name and increase privacy through the features offered on that social.

I don't know if it's common at Starbucks, but at least when/where I was growing up we were always told to be careful what we post on social media because of future employment. I'd assume anything you post publicly is public.

In any job you have, you should expect them to Google you and look through your social media. Lock it down, make sure it only shows what you want it to, and expect and assume that anything you’ve put on the internet attached to your name will be seen by your employer and coworkers.

yep 😐 my manager found my tiktok before i even started my onboarding. i did post on there but luckily my manager is very laid back and i guess didn’t find anything he didn’t like, and i’ve never posted anything to do with my job even now. i don’t know if it’s common for sbux, our managers just might be whack
