So my SM told me today that even though I requested MONTHS AHEAD. For a week off this December. That usually we’re not allowed vacations…. They accepted the days but they told me for next year that I can’t request that time. Is this true ?

If you’ve given them enough time to adjust the schedule it’s not your problem. This year I started taking a bunch of time off because I was not doing so hot last year and everything I requested off was at least 3-6 months in advanced. It’s not your problem if they knew months ahead of time that you would be off, it’s their problem because they didn’t plan ahead.

That’s what I’m thinking Like I’m doting all my I’s and crossing my T’s. Doing everything I was told I need to for time off.

All time off is subject to approval based on business needs during the selected period of time.

So can you say that a bit more simple, I’m kinda slow 😅

They can tell you no for "the good of the business" but you can also tell them "to shove it" because it's a min wage job. Never cancel something meaningful to you for a job like sbux

december is a business necessity, so to take off a week during the most busy time of the year is putting that work load on the rest of the team in an already stressful environment during the holidays.

Fair but I always request with large amounts of time to find fill ins, and I know a lot of my partners want to work Christmas for the extra cash 💰
