I heard that if we have to miss work for a doctor’s appointment or urgent care we get some sort of compensation if we write it in the punch communication log. Is this true or a myth? I’m just trying to find a solidified answer!

If you miss a shift because you have to go to a doctors appointment/urgent care, you can take sick time, but that’s the only instance I know of that you would still get paid.

you can ask to use sick time if you have any?

yes you can. if you have an emergency appointment and you have a scheduled shift you will miss because of it, you can call out for that shift and then write in the book your shift time and use the s code to use your sick time.

Definitely not. At least not in the US

Yes you can use sick time. I had a scheduled surgery and took time off for it and used sick time for the day of the surgery
Also have used sick time for my kids dr appointments

Yea sick days can be used but i thought OP meant like do u get compensated specifically for doctor appointments. Thats why i said no. Because of the way it was worded in the post
