there was a customer waiting in our parking lot before i (an opener) even showed up for work! proceeded to come in and buy 10 cups!

We had a great launch day! Did a 72 transactions half hour during peak & made a 37 window time. We had the best team today. I’m so proud of my partners 🤓🥹

i was on drive bar from open to 9:50. towards the end of my shift i started feeling very dizzy and i had to ask *three times* for someone to watch my bar because i felt like i might pass out before anyone actually acknowledged me. i also got stuck 20 minutes late because “they didn’t realize how late it was” despite me letting them know 15 and 5 minutes before my shift was over

you’d think my headset was broken but they heard everything else i said in that time period 🥲

I’ve had 4 customers rage over how early the release is. “WE JUST HAD HALLOWEEN YESTERDAY JDKLFJSHFHKDJFBCJNF!!!!!”

A customer came in at 4 am (our lobby is closed due to our safety till 7) and they were banging on the door while the signs clearly states that and I was laughing how customers are just desperate for overpriced cups

i called out with a fever of 102 and got told to find my own coverage bc it’s launch day 🤪

My manager got violently screamed at bc she wouldn’t let some lady buy her gold studded cup last night and then we were sold out by the time she showed up this morning.

None of the vanilla I ordered for launch came on the truck. We had 1 bottle going into today.

I work in a financial district where everyone is jaded and in a hurry so no one gives a fuck, customers are more annoyed at the bright colors than anything else it seems lmao

A dog got ran over and died in front of our store so they threw it in the ditch, and then the local homeless meth head was out there swinging it around by it’s legs a few hours later.

We had a person come through our drive thru and steal all our tips from the whole day 🙂

Overslept, didn’t hear any alarms and i was one of the openers of the morning (5:30 shift we open at 6) and i live 38 minutes away from my store. Got a call from my SM at 5:45 asking where i was and it was foggier than fuck outside took me almost an hour to get to work because visibility was less than 20 ft. Clocked in at 7 (instead of 5:30) and was on bar for 6 hours. Ya know those old games from cool math? Papas Pizzaria and Papas Pancakeria and literally everything else? We just switched from our Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew Simulator into the new an improved Peppermint Mocha Simulator. My third holiday season. All jokes aside it wasn’t bad i love being on bar, and people were excited for holiday drinks and patient and kind all day! At least to me…..

nothing that eventful amazingly but my DM unexpectedly came in and i had to make an excuse, run off of bar and to the back, rip my septum ring out and put it in my bag due to having a nose stud already, wash my hands like a surgeon and run back to bar. that was interesting. grateful my piercing is old enough to not close 🙏 (no drinks were delayed in the making of this story bar was dead at the time lmao)

edit: oh yeah, my manager also had to chew a few people out for saving cups behind the counter for themselves so that happened too

Oh, and an artistic barista drew a recognizable plant leaf on the holiday cup for our chalkboard last night and the message read: Leaf your worries at the door.

two people asked me to bump their mobile orders to the front of the line and i said no. they both called to complain about me specifically afterwards and i feel so special and popular ☺️

I barred for my entire 8 hour shift after opening (4am-12:30) and then ended my shift with being coached for my poor customer connection. :’) I just came back from a vacation for my honeymoon and I was running completely on autopilot. But still… when there are several people in CS positions why am I the only person expected to talk to customers.?? Sorry but I’m honestly way too busy busting out drinks like a machine to stand and ask every person what their plans for the day are.

Our grinder broke, so no brewed coffee was available after 10am!! I also was one of the few baristas excited about launch day, which meant most of my team either looked at me funny or told me I had too much energy my entire shift!!

Someone ordered a crème brûlée latte. (Starbucks missed an opportunity here. ) Also the Christmas latte toppings were in a box somewhere in the back and no one gave a rats ass about having them out and ready to go on the morning of holiday launch round one. I was put on bar for “practice” and let’s just say this position and I don’t always agree. I got told “don’t tell ME how to order my drinks when I’m paying for it” and they asked for everything on the side also steamed for a tall black coffee. Just make it at home then.

Came in to open and one of our freezers was broken. Okay, no big deal, order doesn’t come until tonight right? Wrong. They show up right at OPEN. Spent the next hour trying to sort that crap out, thought the SSV was gonna have a heart attack bc she couldn’t fit all the food in the freezers we did have

Not really a story but a customer did say "isn't there a policy that stats if there's a long wait time for drive thru the drink is free?" I proceeded to tell her no nor has that every been a policy and she looked at me with such attitude and said......."are you sure? What's this store number" and then asked me to remake her drink because it spilled a little while handing it to her??

We had only one of the mushroom cups left after like 6:30am (we open at 4:30). The only reason i knew about it was because I’m fairly tall and it was in the back of the top shelf of our display, and the angle the register was at gave me a perfect view of it without letting the customers see it. Tried to buy it on my 10 but it was missing a barcode so my ssv let me put it in the back until we figured out what to do about that 😎 so I managed to get my hands on it! Otherwise opening was a bit of a nightmare bc there were quite a few things that didn’t get done last night and the ssv we had had opened maybe twice, but after that it wasn’t too bad. Definitely helps that my store is mostly a bunch of very dedicated regulars who know exactly what they want lol.

First thing when I clocked on, I get put on warming (easily my least fav position) and I see a 17 food item delivery order :))) By the time I finished that up, it was already too late. I got so far behind, and combined with the fact my temporary sub manager rearranged the entire store without telling anybody—I was losing it. I had customers coming over to me and harassing me about their food, and eventually my partners as well about it. I felt so bad but I couldn’t do anything to make the ovens go faster

I don’t work today but I did yesterday. Our drive they card machine stopped working last night and is still not working today (I stopped by my store for a drink since it’s right across the street and heard about that). While I was there I forgot to look at the winter cups lol

i’m a new partner and today was my first day on register and a lady came in with a grocery list of an order and then started making modifications to everything but the order was for tomorrow and i was just smiling while i waited for my ssv to come and help me😭😭 i bought myself a mushroom cup tho YIPPEE

My family and I got Covid and launch day was my day 5 of self-isolating. I’m a Green Bean of a few months so I couldn’t help it but felt pretty bad I missed it and I’m not scheduled until Sat. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I did promo set with my team last night (a whole ass mess, we went 45 minutes over our scheduled time and still had shit to put out this morning) then came in for a short and fun shift finishing set up and organizing stuff. overall a great day. Our drive mastrena legit broke the night before. Apparently the repair person came by early to mid shift and managed to fix it for the rest of the day. It was just clogged with beans and apparently oat milk caps, how that happened with the caps, I don’t know.

On another note apparently opening had maybe 11 partners to open without the crazy expected rush/peak.

both of our credit card machines went down. 😍🫶 literally couldn’t do anything for twenty minutes. fun for CS, not fun for register 😭

Allowing customers to mobile order the holiday tumblers is a nightmare. Having to run off warming in peak to then look under a dozen tumblers to try and find the sku that matches takes up way too much time and we can't see the display from register so we aren't even able to be on top of keeping the tumblers in/out of stock for item availability. It was a mess.

Helped out another licensed store and chewed out the barista working for apparently YELLING at my coworker on the phone for putting out cups “early” when it was me who did the set up and they were put out on time ☠️

almost had to call the cops bc a guy who was clearly on drugs was running back and forth on our patio and yelling into the void :D (I think a customer ended up calling them bc a car came by as my shift manager came out to talk to him)

Two things lol so I went in at 7am and my first customer ordered 4 banana nut breads, 4 pumpkin loafs, 4 iced lemons, 4 chocolate croissants, 4 sausage and eggs, 4 double smokes, a traveler and 2 different lattes (he was very nice and he tipped well but damn was that a lot when we were already slammed lmao) and second this lady came in and bought 3 of this one cup that everyone was wanting today! Some cup with a mushroom on top of the straw! For four hours people kept calling for it and kept trying to mobile order it even though we sold out already lmao

We had a 87 half hour and sold almost 2500 products by 9 am. It was crazy

i didn't work today but i will admit i'm sad i didn't get first pick at the cups </3 normally would be an opener/mid but i get every thursday off thank fuck

weirdly enough nothing crazy has happened, all our new tumblers sold out which i figured would happen but everything else is fine
