i hope every single customer that screamed at me & belittled me feels good about themselves. (self.starbucksbaristas)

because how fucking pathetic do you have to be to SCREAM at a barista that’s 2 decades younger than you? over WAIT TIMES? i get it. you have kids to get to school or go to work. but SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE THATS IN THE CAFE. i don’t want you to wait 30 minutes either but we were getting 10 mobile orders every 25 seconds.

i swear to god it was like people were lining up & taking turns to come tell me how shit of a barista i am. im truly sorry & genuinely apologize because i can’t make 20 mobile orders in under 10 minutes. my fucking bad for not moving like the flash.

my family also yelled at me for being in a bad mood when i got home bc apparently i’m the only person on planet earth that can’t have a bad day. i wish the ground would just swallow me whole so i never have to talk to another person again. i’m tired.

I totally get what you mean. Not to mention, these are the people that shown up in the first place? Like??? This is STARBUCKS. Of COURSE it’s going to be busy? Especially if you come at peak. Don’t wanna wait? Don’t bother showing up at all ffs. Sorry this happened to you, OP. It sucks

And all the angry customers calling asking if we have the holiday cups… like you do realize people lined up at 330 am to get them at open!

Miserable people will never pass up on an opportunity to spread their misery. At the end of the day you can sleep easy knowing that you try your best, and if that's not enough for some shitty customers, that's their problem, not yours. Keep your head up, better days will come. :)

Don't let them get to you. They don't deserve that satisfaction. I hope you're able to let today's trials fade away and that you are able to recognize for yourself the amazing person you are. Sending you all the hugs!

Honestly, as a sensitive bean myself, it is so incredibly hard not to internalize when people get upset. I have to remind my partners and myself daily that I know we are doing the best we can. We can only focus on so many things at a time, the machines can only go so fast, we cannot control how many other people are ordering at once. It takes time, but at my store, we’ve built trust with the regulars at least, which helps. I think the easiest thing we can do is just communicate to people. I see a difference when we acknowledge that it’s taking a long time. Even a quick announcement to the lobby “hey folks, we appreciate your patience, according to our system we’re about (however long) behind and are going as fast as we can to get orders out. I promise we didn’t forget about you, if you’ve been waiting longer than (whatever time), let us know so we can figure out what’s going on” can go a long way in calming some of the antsy mob mentality that people start to get when they don’t understand what’s going on. Having your register folks set that expectation when people come in to order is helpful too. People like feeling like they have a choice, and if they acknowledge that it will be a wait and they still order, it is a choice they are making.

People who haven’t worked in food service -especially Starbucks- don’t understand what goes into a shift. The overwhelming and overstimulating noise and chaos of every little moving part that has to align for each drink and order. Hang in there OP, you’re not alone, and there are people who get it.

I'm really sorry youre going through all this :( I just want to let you know that everything youre feeling is real and important and valid. If you need more support lyra is always available and its free for every barista. ❤️ Good job managining the holidays so far. If they ever speak up to you again just tell them to find another barista at the front or call the 1-800 for a refund if they truly cant wait. Their lack of planning isnt your responsibility!

Yep that was me yesterday during a 77 person half people were screaming at me saying we’re moving to slow and that were incompetent, we also had a fight to deal with during that half, but I’m sorry if you think that the job is so easy do it your fucking self

I just don’t get how people think that espresso shots get done in .5 seconds or if they order 7 drinks and it doesn’t come out in 3 minutes like calm tf down
swollemolle 1 points 8m ago
Nah. Idgaf about how long you’re waiting in line. I’m not sorry because I haven’t done anything wrong. In truth, Idgaf about your highly customized expensive Frappuccino or any other drink for that matter. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll make it according to your specs or whatever but don’t expect me to rush or anything. You and every other customer in our queue has a drink that is custom made and god help me and everyone in the store if your drink doesn’t come out the way you like it. For that, idgaf. I’ll get to it when I get to it. And because I took my time making it so that you don’t complain about the lack of quality, you’ll stfu about waiting a little longer for it. It’s all gonna end up in the same place right? So stop complaining. If you don’t like the wait, there are plenty of other places you can go for coffee. Plenty. You could even make coffee at home lol.

I remember going back to work after the pandemic and the starbucks was hellish. I waited nearly 40 minutes for my drink!

So you know what I did the next day? And every day after?

I got up earlier, mobile ordered before I left the house, and it's ready by the time I get there to pick it up every day! So crazy!

I'm sorry these people are shitty with you, when they simply need to plan better. Just remember, it is 100% a them problem, and not a you problem.
