Coffee Master Question ()

For my store, and I’m assuming this is standard since my manager researched and did it with us. The 100 and 200 books are done on your own time unpaid. And once those are complete and your coffee passport is filled your manager can schedule you training for the 300 books to finish the coffee master training. We were scheduled 8 hours to do it, it’s a lot of training and stores have a limit on budget so talk to your manager about it ahead of time.

I was told to write in 2 hours for each 100 and 200 modules so i don’t think that was standard given how tightly we’ve been running hours, but maybe there isn’t a standard?? and for OP, every other week I was scheduled for 2 hours of training that was dedicated to coffee master modules/book activities until I finished them (about to graduate in 2 weeks now!!!!) and paid for any other time in store that pertained to coffee master training! (meetings, tastings, connecting with my SM, etc)

That sounds reasonable honestly. My manager had to do her 100 and 200 in store the budget for training is just tight. Breaking it up might be better 8 hours of modules was killer even with the breaks for tasting and practicing latte art 😭

YOU GET PAID!! Tell your manager, they schedule you to do it on the clock, YES, all level courses are PAID, I’ve been through this process myself, it does not take 20-30 hours btw, should only take you a few, 5-6 max

I finished mine on my own time. The only thing that took a lot of planning was the coffee tasting i did for our dm. Good luck!!
