Sure, unless your manager explicitly says otherwise, i guess. It's just less likely that a barista will be able to address the issue. But like 75% of our calls these days are "what time are you open til?" and "is your lobby open today?" with the occasional prank or scam call mixed in. I, for one, would be delighted to share the load on those.

Main thin though...PLEASE, if they need to speak to a manager/shift, at least try to get their name and what the call is in reference to. It's just nice to be able to mentally prep.

yeah they can! it honestly can be more helpful if you give the phone to a shift though. most of the times it's a call out or customer complaint and it's easier that way

Technically anyone can answer. I prefer for shifts to answer cause superstition. I'd say most calls I or another shift answer are what time are you open or are you really out of X? When baristas answer it's someone either flipping out over something or they're trying to order a bunch of travelers and can they be ready in 15-20 minutes???

My partners will never answer the phone and 99% of the time someone calls I’m on bar running a break -.- I’ve impressed customers as I’ve slung out drinks and deescalated situations.

No. Jk yes we can. At my location anyone can answer, but depending on how busy we are we might take awhile if we answer at all

Anyone can. (unless you’re me and avoid the phone like the plague bc I don’t even like answering my own phone unless it’s important)
