Anyone else get that 360 degree camera in their store? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Our store manager has been threatening to watch that feed like a hawk and finally implemented it. Now she’s saying if we’re caught making our own drinks or batch blending Frappuccinos, we’ll get written up or fired. Anyone else have experience with this?

Nope, but it's one of those rules that most stores probably don't follow. We had an issue with partners stealing food a few months ago and now we're not allowed to make our own drinks anymore.

My manager tried to stop us at some point but if you get thrown on break when there's a rush and there's only 10 minutes to drink a drink, it's kind of ridiculous that we would have to wait for a coworker to make it when we're perfectly capable of making our own lol Starbucks once again cracking down on not the problem.

I think it’s not allowed because after you put your sticker in and then make it they want to reduce the chances of you taking more pumps of syrups/other drink components that you put in the drink that you didn’t list on the sticker. Cause in their eyes it’s stealing product since it wasn’t accounted for

They sure don’t. I know for certain because I had to ask my dm for the audio recording from a certain day with my manager, and she looked at me like I was crazy and what I said was impossible and told me they have no reason to record the audio

In my state they have to post signs that audio is being recorded. You cannot record audio in Florida without permission or warning.

We have it. It's literally only used when the shifts need to be in the back to do a pull/place an order, so we can run up front if shit starts to hit the fan.

We have the cameras but put in a doorbell to call the back room. You just press the doorbell button and it chimes in the back to say “help me”

We had that, it broke, no one replaced it. That's literally half the store right now. We're in line for a remodel, so they don't want to out right replace anything they don't absolutely have to until then. We've been in line for at least 2 years. Sigh.

people have been fired for making their own drinks without ringing them up. Giving free beverages to partners that aren’t on the clock. Because it’s THEFT. They have a particular department that watches cameras. They don’t always watch unless they’re given a reason to. Like cash management or abusing the drink policy. Just be honest. Go through the line and order your drink. That’s always been the rule. A free drink isn’t worth not being able to pay your rent.
As far as batching Frappuccinos, while it’s not the biggest crime against the Siren, you know it’s not standard. if your repeatedly going against standard knowing you’re doing so, you’re basically saying you don’t give a fuck about doing your job right and that is grounds for a write up. It just sounds a like your boss is implementing standard practices that should’ve always been followed and you just don’t like it.
