what does your store not allow to go into the hobart? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by lizchesley
hobart or… idk how to spell it. the dishwasher lol. i just think it’s interesting because there is always a disagreement on what can/can’t go in the hobart when my store has someone transfer. whenever i’m a borrowed partner at a different store i also notice them putting things in the hobart my store would kill me for (but i don’t say anything of course). i just thought it would be interesting to see the difference between locations.
this is what my store doesn’t allow in the hobart:
pumps, assembled or not
all bar pieces (except for the shot glass i guess)
the gel thing under the blender (idk what it’s called lol)
caramel drizzle bottles
the top of our cold bar (the shelves where our teas and inclusions go… i’m not sure how to explain it but there are like 7 rectangular pieces on the shelf is that helps at all LMAO)

If it fits it goes in the Hobart

My store puts all of those except the rubber blender pieces in Hobart

You can find SCEMM documents for how to clean different things that will tell you what has to be hand washed - the list is shorter than you might think

Darn it.

Anything that says hand wash we don’t put in there, anything with glue (like syrup holders), caramel bottles, mocha bottles, anything super plasticy

Aprons.

Few months ago there was an apron shortage in my province, so my ASM had to bring aprons home to wash. Before she took them home though she ran them through the dishwasher a few times to get rid of the excess mold and stank 🤣🤣

I just know we stopped putting our caramel drizzle bottles in the Hobart and the leaking stopped until recently when I think we had a surge of new partners and now we have so many leaky caramel drizzle bottles.

The answers are in the big ass cleaning manual. All of them.

blender pieces, caramel drizzle pieces, and gravity pitchers recently because our sm thinks its the source of them leaking.
italyphoenix 3 points 8m ago
Wtf is a gravity pitcher???
Hot-Independence8670 3 points 8m ago
i think they may be at a newer/remodeled store that has their refresher bases and teas in those pitchers that sit up on a shelf and it dispenses from them? i could be wrong because my store is older and doesn’t have that but that’s my guess
bellamythos 1 points 8m ago
pretty sure you’re right, gravity pitchers are the round 2L pitchers that go on a shelf
nezaket 1 points 8m ago
if its metal i put it in the hobart. soft plastics, plexis, plastic things that already have a crack somewhere...i use the 3-compartment sink instead bc i feel like i have witnessed too many things warping under the heat. but, this is literally just my personal preference. not sure my store has its own guidelines

The blender is the only thing. But tbh I be sneaking straight white towels in them to washem. It really helps and cleans them LOL
