only two of us, on a saturday night with cars backed up onto the highway in drive thru. (self.starbucksbaristas)

had to shut down the lobby again. this has to be the worst job i’ve ever had.
and i’ve had like 36.
first week of open one of the baristas broke down and was like. i was in the military for the past four years, including active duty overseas.. this makes me want to go back in the military.
last week i heard the new guy at the drive through muttering to himself over and over “i’ve seen people die, i can do this. i’ve seen people die, I can do this”
…if that tells anyone how much of a shitshow our store is.

Holy shit thats awful. I am so, so sorry. Can you talk to your SM? Your DM? District managers contact info is usually posted in the back.
I’m lucky enough that both SMs I’ve had were amazing, but I worked at another store recently and it was like you described… all the issues could be chalked up to bad management. Seriously.
Im not sure if you did this, but if that happens again with only 2 people y’all should close, or at the very least shut off mobiles and cafe. For mobiles you’d have to contact your SM/DM. And to close your SM at least. But seriously.
