has a customer ever come behind your bar?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by lilleniouo
a customer had a question for me about their mobile order while we were insanely busy. I was happy to help while continuing making drinks (I can shake a refresher and walk away from a counter at the same time, as I'm sure every other barista here can) the customer decided to come behind my bar instead of letting me come to them. I was appalled and before answering any questions just said "please do not come behind my bar" the customer looked stunned, walked back out to the lobby area and I helped them with their question. it's like seriously though, after my store's remodel last summer, all the cold bar baristas are like dancing monkeys and the end of the bar is open for quite literally anyone to walk in, I'm just surprised it took over a year for a customer to walk behind the bar

had an old man try to come behind the bar one time because he lost his car keys and assumed we were hiding it from him since he couldn't find it after looking for like 20 minutes. had to tell him if he took one more step back there id call the police and he called me a rude bitch 🤷♀️

Yeah, gotta squash that behavior as soon as it appears, its a safety and liability issue for everyone involved.

I’ve had people walk behind the counter to get the warning partners attention. Like who raised you???? Get in line ?

it happened exactly once, and the funny thing is that the SM and ASM were in the lobby and saw it happen but kinda just froze in shock.
I was on POS and had handed a customer the brewed coffee they ordered; as always I’d asked if they wanted cream or sugar, and they said no.
a couple minutes later I see them standing behind the bar next to our warming station and handwashing sink.
they were looking for the sugars because they couldn’t find them on the condiment bar. also was there someplace they could pour out some of the coffee to make room for cream?

These two people were filming a stupid video for their blog or whatever. They had two unleashed dogs walking around the lobby. They ran behind the bar and they ran after them and I let someone else deal with it because I have severe allergies to them. 🤷♀️ Rude and oblivious, as per much of the clientele.

Had it happen at both of my jobs. Worked at pizza place and this man picked up his daughter and walked to our ovens. It was only myself and my manager and she said “Sir you cannot come back here it’s a safety hazard.” The idiot said “I just wanted to show her the ovens”. Like why does your 4 year old need to see our ovens? You gonna get her a job here?
Then at sbux a woman came behind bar to throw her trash in our trash can… there’s a trash can in the lobby. People really have no boundaries

the entrance to the bar is right by mobile pick up and where we keep straws, and we have had lots of people recently walk behind the counter to get a straw

no but yesterday i turned around from cold bar and a crusty custie had reached over the bar, grabbed my bar spoon, and started scooping the foam off her drink
No_Indication_52051 points8m ago
Why. Its already in the drink. Are they concerned about having gas? No way are we now putting more milk in your drink to make up for the foam you just took off with our bar spoon without even asking for any assistance.

Yeah. we all stood in total disbelief, lucky one of our partners was really loud and inappropriate was working and she just started in on the dude till he ran away

The only thing close to that that happens is people walking into our backroom thinking it's the bathroom.
