Still don’t know what she wanted from me. (venti story time) (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Unfair-Talk176
The other night I’m working drive thru. Another coworker is solo bar, it’s about 6:30-7pm. A customer orders a venti iced caramel macchiato. She comes to the window, pays, and I hand her the drink. I say have a good night and shut the window bc someone else has pulled up to the box. I take their order. I turn back, and the lady is still sitting there. I open the window, smile, and wait for her to ask for a straw or napkin or whatever.

Customer: *gestures to her shirt*
Me: *looks, notices three small drops of espresso* Oh! Would you like some napkins? *already grabbing napkins*
Customer: I guess.

I hand her the napkins.

Customer: *mumbles something angrily to me while taking the napkins*
Me: I’m sorry?
Customer: I said this is probably RUINED. I don’t know what you did to this lid but the drink got all over my shirt and it’s probably ruined now.
Me: *just kinda stunned* Oh…kay... I’m really sorry about that! I’m not sure what happened, but i’m very sorry!

We just kind of stare at each other for a minute. Finally, she rolls her eyes and leaves.

She already paid for her drink… so I don’t know if she wanted a refund? Or wanted us to pay for dry cleaning? Pay for a new shirt?

Also, it’s not mine or my coworkers fault you spilled your drink on your shirt, lady.

I literally hate being on solo drive thru and handing off the drink and expecting the customer to be gone but only to open the window back up and hear ridiculous complaints from the same customer.
