i’d recommend just applying to another starbucks near you right now and don’t bring up that u plan on leaving soon. then when the time comes, just put in a transfer request to a starbucks in the city you’ll be moving to. if i’m being completely honest with you i don’t think they plan on moving forward with your application since even after the 6-8 months, you commuting is not as reliable. having to commute to work where it might be somewhat of a longer drive would mean that you wouldn’t be able to be called in last minute if they ever needed you, etc. plus honestly it’s not worth it going to work when you have to drive a long way and only stay there for a few hours. in my opinion it’s just a waste of gas when you would have closer starbucks stores to u. good luck and lmk if need clarification or anything on anything else :)

well yeah to start off, ur not supposed to tell them when u plan on leaving because they are more than always looking for someone long term because they want to have the lowest turnover as possible. they also shouldn’t be asking u how long u plan on staying either

agree w the other comments, and to add, this is an at will company so you aren’t signing a contract that says you’ll be there still after you move. you can gaslight the hell out of them and then still transfer after you move.
