Hi! I thought that us partners got free spotify as a benefit of being employed with SB, however a fellow barista just informed me today she’s pretty sure corporate takes it out of our check to pay for our premium subscription anyways. Is this true?

I can see there thought process but they pay you the money then take it out of your paycheck so it is a net 0

Correct. If you want to see for yourself, you can look on your paystub you can see it as imputed income.

It's not true. You do, however, pay taxes on the value of the Spotify subscription.

Right. This benefit does get taxed, which is why you’ll see it on your pay statement
