It’s common in stores that are auditing tills or there has been a consistent discrepancy. We used to count the tills down after every person like 15 years ago but that’s not a typical thing now. Is it a new SM? Like new to the role, not new to the store?

new to the store. to my knowledge, he's been a manager at a location on the other side of town for a few years that has become one of the highest-rated stores in our area. i'm holding out judgement to see if he helps our store, but i can't help but question his strange ways.

I'm guessing your store has a cash shortage problem, once the problem is rooted out he'll probably ease up a bit.

I do that with my baristas just in case because I wouldn’t want them to be held accountable for someone else’s mistakes or anything. Even if the till is only open for a half hour I’ll count it down. We have four drawers for a reason…

Common - it’s usually a notice that they’re counting cash per person because of til issues.

my guess would be theres been a till issue of some kind, like them consistently coming up short so theyre tryna track it better. that info usually is kept from baristas as then any potential thief would know blahblahblah
Our mission is to provide everyone with access to large- scale community websites for the good of humanity. Without ads, without tracking, without greed.
