someone please bless me with the peppermint mocha CF recipe(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by sstcyr
Cross post from r/Starbucks because it might be more helpful here.
I've seen baristas on here saying they found it. WHEEREEE, I hate not having a standard.
Fun story:
We had a leader meeting in our store on launch day, all SMs in the district, and DMs from a few other districts.
We got a mobile that has the peppermint mocha CF modifier and were like wtf is this, we all do the training and read the weeklys. Couldn't find anything in store resources. Couldn't find anything in partner hub. Couldn't find anything in the app. Took it to the leader meeting.
They couldn't find anything either. Decided that as a whole we were all going to do one pump of mocha and one pump of peppermint in ours and surrounding districts to keep consistent.
Edit; their reasoning is that since it has the word mocha in the name, it's made with mocha pumps.
Cuz the chocolate almond shaken espresso and the chocolate cream cold brew both say chocolate and have the malt powder
And the powder that goes on top of the Irish cream is cocoa, which is specifically not chocolate or mocha.
So since it has mocha in the name, anything else that has mocha gets mocha pumps.
But if anyone has the actual recipe, I just tried to find it again cuz I thought maybe they updated it somewhere and I don't know where people are getting it. I need a picture or a link or something that confirms an actual recipe.

This is the worst communication about a new drink or modifier corporate has ever had with us. Literally no one knows and is just guessing lmao
sstcyr [OP]7 points8m ago
I feel so much better knowing this though, I was losing my mind with baristas on r Starbucks saying they read it and stuff but not being able to find it myself
snarky_fireball2148 points8m ago
I saw it briefly once like two months ago, but I thought it was the chocolate cream cold foam with two pumps of peppermint. I tried it with just one pump of the peppermint and it was delicious.
It might be on the cold foam modifier card that was sent out with all the other holiday drink cards.
awesomechief98925 points8m ago
They were going to make it a drink for holiday, but they took it out of the launch. But they kept the modifier. ironically they gave no recipe for the modifier for “CF” the drink was going to be a peppermint cb with malt foam. But they condensed it into a peppermint malt foam. Ps I’ve heard it might get two CBS pumps of peppermint which is prob why one pump tasted better
snarky_fireball212 points8m ago
I thought it did say but, my memory is hazy now so meh.
I'm not a huge fan of the peppermint syrup, but you could also be right. One of these days, I'll try it on the BOSE.
hatman_v431 points8m ago
At my store we do 2 scoops of malt powder and 2 cbs peppermint pumps (aka 1 regular pump)
somewheredaydreaming7 points8m ago
Same. This is standard cold foam recipe✨
Responsible_Snow71092 points8m ago
Same here!

U said it has mocha in the name but its called peppermint chocolate cream cold foam. Its Starbucks just adding an addition to the chocolate cream cold foam probably cuz nobody orders anything with the malt powder so theyre trying to get it used up and such
sstcyr [OP]-6 points8m ago
They're different things, the peppermint CCCB is just a a CCCB with peppermint, not vanilla. The foam on it is literally just chocolate foam.
The peppermint mocha/chocolate FOAM is something else entirely because it's a modifier you can add to anything. And that's the discussion, is it malt or is it mocha.
Ours does have mocha on the tickets, hence the reasoning of my higher ups.
Also we go thru malt powder at my store like crazy. The chocolate shaken espresso is very popular here
Responsible_Snow71093 points8m ago
The 2nd part where u said the peppermint mocha/chocolate foam is a modifier but isnt that just the foam thats taken from the peppermint chocolate cream cold brew? I personally only had 1 order of it so far so im guna look more into all this when i go in tomorrow
sstcyr [OP]2 points8m ago
First the peppermint chocolate cream cold brew foam is literally just chocolate cream CF, The peppermint goes in the cold brew, not in the foam. That DOES have a recipe card and was communicated in the weekly update.
But this is where the confusion came from; because the chocolate almond milk shaken espresso and the chocolate cream cold brew both get malt powder.
But our stickers were specifically saying mocha, not chocolate.
Which led everyone to agree that the foam should be 1 pump mocha and 1 peppermint.
On launch day when we checked in the app it was coming up as peppermint mocha cold foam. And today my app has updated to peppermint chocolate cream cold foam, but our tickets as of yesterday were still printing with peppermint mocha cf modifiers.
SOOOOO who knows
Guess we will all just do whatever we feel is best lolol
Responsible_Snow71092 points8m ago
Lmao i hate starbucks. Theres way too many options and modifiers and cold foams. Thats interesting that ur tickets say mocha. I dont clearly remember what our tickets say cuz i only ran into one order of it the other day but im guna check on the POS system and pit a drink thru and see what it comes up as for our stickers. This is craziness 😳 lol
embrell4 points8m ago
my SM just texted us in our group chat what it was - two scoops malt powder and two pumps peppermint in the cold foam, dunno about the cold brew itself though
sstcyr [OP]-1 points8m ago
Appreciate it, but until I have an actual recipe card or something, I'm just going to assume everybody is doing what they think is best. Cause from the two posts on here about it, no one actually knows, there's no actual communication about it lol
And until there is I have to go with what my leaders have said
andersonm4992 points8m ago
It’s definitely peppermint in the chocolate cream cold foam (hence the name) “peppermint chocolate cream cold foam”
sstcyr [OP]0 points8m ago
Our stickers print peppermint mocha CF, hence why my leaders decided it was mocha in the foam
andersonm4991 points8m ago
That’s weird on the pos it says peppermint chocolate cold foam 🤨
embrell1 points8m ago
oh yeah, not saying that its the standard or whatever lol. doing what your upper management says is best!
yvesagain4 points8m ago
Did any of you guys look at the actual starbucks mobile order app? It has the recipe, two pumps mocha and two pumps peppermint for a grande.
EDIT: I'm an idiot and thought this post was talking about the peppermint mocha crème frap, not the cold foam 🤦♀️
sstcyr [OP]4 points8m ago
We did, as I said in the post. It doesn't have the recipe, I also just double checked again right now in case it updated and I still don't have any indication of what's in it. So if you could screenshot it for me that'd be awesome
Edit: wait two pumps of each? I think you are thinking of the latte and not the cold foam which is what I'm talking about...
yvesagain1 points8m ago
I'm so sorry I thought this was about a creme frap not the cold foam. Disregard my comment
Responsible_Snow7109-1 points8m ago
The peppermint mocha gets 4 pumps of each. Like 4 peppermint and 4 mocha for a grande
sstcyr [OP]2 points8m ago
I mean yeah but no cold foams get 4 pumps of syrup at all and the only thing I could figure was they were thinking of a latte
Responsible_Snow71091 points8m ago
Oh yea but it wouldnt be 4 pumps in the foam It would be 2 scoops of malt and then 2 CBS pumps of peppermint. It gets malt in it, not mocha!
akaraii4 points8m ago
This is the one place I hadn’t thought to look, we’ve looked everywhere else 😅
Edit: It’s not even an option on my app
mymelodywithaglock3 points8m ago
that sounds like a lot for cold foam though..
yvesagain1 points8m ago
omg apologies, for some reason I read this as being about the mocha peppermint crème frap, not the cold foam. disregard my comment
sstcyr [OP]1 points8m ago
Yeah definitely
linseeded3 points8m ago
That’s weird it was on my store’s iPad recipes. Grande gets 2 full pumps peppermint, cold foam gets malt scoops then topped with chocolate curls. I panicked when I saw the recipe because it said it was “promotional” but not part of the drop? I can check my store’s iPad and post a pic when I clock in today if you want
sstcyr [OP]0 points8m ago
That's just the new peppermint chocolate ccb, we have this recipe card. We're trying to locate the info for the peppermint mocha/chocolate cold FOAM, specifically.
But absolutely yes if you can find the recipe for the foam, please send photo!
linseeded1 points8m ago
Ah I read this wrong LOL I’ll see if I can find anything!
Broad-Flounder-49713 points8m ago
Oh thank god. I thought I was just missing some info and was like eh l’ll do one of each. Four seems like way too many for a cf.
sstcyr [OP]1 points8m ago
I agree BUT I had a lovely Canadian partner in the comments somewhere inform me that they actually are supposed to do two mocha two peppermint in the foam up there! They said it's good and foams just fine so, I dunno!
dipitysly1 points8m ago
US used malt and Canada uses mocha!
whatsthebigdealwith_1 points8m ago
The answer from Food and Beverage Operations is 2 scoops malt and 2 pumps peppermint. It follows the seasonal/modified cold foam recipe card.
sstcyr [OP]1 points8m ago
Hmm food and bev operations is a new one, I will check it today thanks
Ok_Lemon_71591 points8m ago
It was in the holiday training on the iPad, on one of the slides it told you to check the recipe cards in store resources and had a recipe card for it not sure if it’s still there I’ve been on vacay since holiday launch
RedDeadGurl1 points8m ago
Why don’t we make chocolate cold foam with mocha sauce instead of malt?
sstcyr [OP]2 points8m ago
I have no idea! Don't get me wrong I love malt, but it is such a distinct flavor, and so different from chocolate alone. I've never understood it
RedDeadGurl1 points8m ago
Tbh if I was a customer and got chocolate foam without knowing it was malt I would be disappointed. It doesn’t taste like chocolate, it tastes like malt
sstcyr [OP]1 points8m ago
100% agree
Jessi43941 points8m ago
I think I remember seeing something about it in a weekly update last month but I don’t remember the specifics 😅 I think going through the last few updates is a good start though!
sstcyr [OP]1 points8m ago
Have done that but thanks

We, too, were confused. We decided on one full pump each of mocha and peppermint.
On a tangential note, since some are saying it should be made with the malt powder, if you make the malt foam with irish cream it's amazing.
Ceramicusedbook1 points8m ago
Is it not 1:1 peppermint+mocha?
sstcyr [OP]0 points8m ago
That's what was decided for us, but there's no standard anywhere and that's what I'm trying to locate
However it's becoming clearer that there just is no standard xD
Ceramicusedbook1 points8m ago
I just assumed it's 1:1 because all of the cold foam syrup modifations are 2 pumps syrup to 150ml of sweet cream.
sstcyr [OP]1 points8m ago
100ml* but yeah that's what we did too
But then there's so many people saying it's malt powder
But there's no info anywhere
Ceramicusedbook1 points8m ago
Canada doesn't have malt powder so I'm not sure on that one.
xXTimbloXx1 points8m ago
It’s just chocolate cream cold foam with one hot bar pump or two CBS pumps of peppermint.
sstcyr [OP]1 points8m ago
But where's the official information, where did you get this info xD
xXTimbloXx2 points8m ago
Winter training had it on there last month or so I think. It was very briefly mentioned and then they just didn’t give us a recipe card in true Starbucks fashion. It could also be on the iPad in the store resources app, but don’t quote me on that one.
almondmiilktea1 points8m ago
It was in winter training I had seen this as well, It’s 2 scoops of malt powder and 2 cbs pumps of peppermint or 1 regular pump
Ordinary-Theory-82891 points8m ago
It doesn’t come as pep mocha CF though. It prints as chocopep CF
sstcyr [OP]0 points8m ago
One of the mysteries surrounding it, our stickers as of my shift yesterday, have been printing it as Peppermint Mocha CF
moldyhotpocket-1 points8m ago
thankfully ive only gotten one order with this foam but i asked my ssv on duty, who acts like he knows sbux standards to a t, and said its 2 pumps mocha and 2 pumps peppermint ??? i felt so bad giving out the drink like that.
mommymary3 points8m ago
it’s only made with mocha sauce in canada, or other countries without malt powder (or if your store is to run out of malt powder). in the US it is 2 scoops of malt powder.
moldyhotpocket1 points8m ago
Awesome! I honestly hadn’t even thought about the malt powder until I saw this post. What about peppermint? One full pump/2 half pumps seems like thats enough.
mommymary1 points8m ago
Agreed! I tried it with 2 full pumps of peppermint and it tasted like pure toothpaste. But I’m not sure what the standard is ☹️ On the recipe card for customized CF, it says the cold foam gets 2 pumps of the preferred syrup. But SCCF gets one full/two half pumps of caramel so I have no idea.
sstcyr [OP]0 points8m ago
Yeah but everybody is just guessing. until I see an actual recipe card or something, I'm just going to assume everybody is making it up.
