How are you a 17x but still don't know how to run breaks and lunches properly?!(self.starbucksbaristas)

I'm not sure if this particular shift at my store is just so complacent after being with the company for 10+ years or what, but... I NEVER get my breaks and lunches on time when I'm on this person's shifts. I worked 7.50 hours today and got my lunch 6 hours in and my last 10 just 15 minutes before I was supposed to leave. I literally put on my apron for 5 minutes and then clocked out, like what is the reason 😭 There have been days where I don't even get a lunch because they mark out my lunch on the DCR and then forget to actually send me on it like HOW. I don't understand. You've worked here for over a decade at this point. DO BETTER.
P. S. I understand that sometimes lunches and breaks get screwy based on tons of factors, I've been a manager before myself, but most times it just seems like the reason I'm not getting my breaks and lunches is just because this person's incompetent

This is also the person that forgets their store keys at least once a month and lives a 20 minute drive away and no call no shows at least once every other week so I don't know what I'm expecting but JFC

I love my SM to pieces she's truly amazing but she's good friends with this guy and has been for a long time so I think she first off doesn't hear a lot of this bc she's never on the floor and secondly turns a blind eye to it because of their history. Which is also why I don't really want to bring up the situation with her

Ahhhhh. Absolutely get it. Yikes. Your SM is putting everyone else on her team in an uncomfortable situation with her unprofessionalism. Im sorry you have to deal with that.

Oof, that explains the problem then. Keeping careful track of breaks is annoying and scheduling them well can be tricky, so why would he expend the effort when he knows he won't get in trouble regardless? Like if he's getting away with no call no shows (WTF though seriously, that's like the most basic tenet of employment especially in service industries) regularly he can get away with anything.
I would feel no shame about going to a DM about this.

I have been a shift for like three weeks & breaks should never be a problem. It’s the easiest part of the job & the most important

I would suggest being vocal about getting your breaks, squeaky wheel gets grease situation. If they aren’t giving out breaks, I’m sure there are other issues with that ssv but it is possible that there is a business reason that you aren’t getting breaks on time. More than likely though they just don’t feel it is important to give you a break and that needs to be addressed

17x!? With that much tenured and experience, they should be one of the highest paid partners out there.
