Just void the check or mark it as a right now recovery. Mistakes happen. That is minor and it happens time to time. Don't stress over it.

My shift lead was running drive orders with me and was trying to help as well and just kinda brushed it off and said "it happens sometimes, you're fine." So thank you for reaffirming this

Np. Thats super minor. We've had to give out expensive orders when our tills went down multiple times in one day. Don't worry about messing up one small order payment. It will happens again, it happens to everyone! Go about your day, its all okay.

Yeah there’s zero chance this will ever come back to you. Managers would drive themselves insane if they tried to investigate every voided check. As far as I can tell, there’s basically no accountability for mistakes baristas make on till.

Hey, some advice, say this to yourself when this happens “It’s just coffee”. This is a very minor accident, no one but you is thinking of this minor accident after your shift has ended. Do not let Starbucks stress you out. It’s just coffee.

it really just be like that sometimes. i accidentally charged someone for just the reusable straw instead of the reusable cold cup. didn’t hit me till hours later that i did that.

I always just remember that it’s just coffee and the company isn’t losing money. We also throw away so many materials when training.

When I got hired it took me about 8 or 9 times to learn how to properly steam milk, constantly dumping out that pitcher and being told "try it again, you'll get the method down." Oof it hurt me inside wasting almost half a gallon of milk.
