transfer vs borrowed partner standard? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by poorbaby26
I’m trying to transfer from my current store to my old store for the holidays. Current manager says that bc it’s over 2 weeks, I have to transfer and cannot be borrowed for that amount of time (it’s just over a month). Old manager says he won’t transfer me since it’s only a month and will only let me be borrowed.
I can’t find the standard on this anywhere. Help?

I've been a borrowed partner for months at a time. Also remember as a borrowed partner you get travel pay as a transferred partner you do not

My DM goes by if they ask you to be borrowed to another store you'll get travel pay, if you're working there because you want to you won't.

DM also goes by anything longer than 3 weeks has to be a transfer so I guess it varies by area.

I did that for months shortly after I first got hired so I could get more hours. I was literally split between 2 stores every week, it was fun. My home store was a cafe and the other store was DT. Even though I was technically a borrowed partner, the DT SM joked that I was one of hers too since I was there so much.

It's def fun when you have good store managers

In order to transfer, you need to be in position for 6 months. They updated it, I think, in the second or third week in September. Transferring wouldn't be an option if it was just a very temporary thing like holidays.

in that case, I should definitely be borrowed for winter break

If you travel you get paid. It's not your sm choice. Also the other store pays, not your store.
I will try finding the transfer policy
