Do people purposely mobile order complicated drinks only to not pick them up? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Had someone order a 10 shot pike with vanilla bean powder and a latte with 1 pump of every syrup. Never came into get it.. do they just request a refund or why do people do that?

I got a mobile order of 2 fraps that were ridiculous. Both were tall size and the ticket was longer than the cup! I was convinced it was a prank order so I was kinda petty with the additional toppings. It was really a disgusting drink… and I was upset I had to try and fit it in a tall cup.
I super confidently called out the name at mobile handoff thinking it wasn’t gonna get picked up… but the customer was standing there… and I presume was watching me make her ridiculous fraps…
I pick my battles more wisely now.
