Is my SM allowed to cut my hours for no reason? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Last night, I checked for me new weekly schedule posted and I saw my hours been cut from 20 hours a week to 4 hours a week. My SM didn’t gave me any notice or warning about cutting my hours. Although, my SM is hiring. Can my SM do that?

cutting hours as retaliation is illegal
cutting hours evenly to meet business needs (such as hitting target labor numbers) is ok

I haven’t talked to him yet, but I will next time I work with him to find out what’s going on because it’s unusual for someone’s hours to be reduced over 50% of the average weekly hours.

it could also be a mistake. my SM has both scheduled me 7 days a week…and 1 day a week. I asked her about it both times and she forgot to edit it. hopefully it’s just that and not your sm screwing you over :/
