I hate when people bring in unwashed personal cups
Responsible_Snow7109124 points7m ago
Yeah it's disgusting. One time I had a guy bring in a disposable cup from like a gas station or convenience store and it had leftover coffee residue in it and he tried to use that as his reusable cup
testingaurora67 points7m ago
So vile. What is wrong with ppl?? You won’t wash and sanitize the smelly moldy cup that’s been left in your hot car for three days but you’ll subject baristas to it and expect them to deal with it?? Then throw a fit when they won’t/can’t bc it’s policy?
I would never. I would be so embarrassed /humiliated to bring in a nasty ass cup !! Why do ppl not have that ?
Sufficient-Level-40819 points7m ago
Ten... Cents...
Responsible_Snow710912 points7m ago
Yea cuz they literally wana save 10 cents lmao i mean this guy im talkin about didnt even have the app to get the 25 stars for it as well. He literally just wanted to save 10 cents. Never seen him after that so maybe hes just buying his coffee from a gas station/convenience store and maybe (hopefully) he stopped going to any starbucks with his nasty dirty used disposable cup from there
testingaurora3 points7m ago
Wow. I would be keeping dimes around just to give ppl to keep them from throwing fits. The stars does raise a challenge though
Catperson50904 points7m ago
I see stuff like this all the time. Homeless (usually just men) go into McDonalds or something and get a used cup out of the trash and then go fill it with soda.
Responsible_Snow71091 points7m ago
Omg i didnt think of that originally. Thats a good point as well lol i thought it was just from a convenience store or gas station where he bought coffee from there and drank that coffee and I thought he just brought that cup over to Starbucks and tried to get 10 cents off a cup of coffee from us. But I definitely didn't think that that could be a possibility that it was dug up from the trash can somewhere. I live in the suburbs of Philly so I've seen just a few homeless people living here the past 20 years since I was 11 and I can count on one hand how many homeless people I've seen but it is a possibility for sure! He did look a little down and out so I don't know for sure which one of those situations it was but that definitely is a possibility that I never even thought of until now
ezranilla3 points7m ago
how much money do they save? like 10¢ right?
Responsible_Snow71091 points7m ago
Yepp lol just 10 cents
TarantulaTeeth130 points7m ago
Bringing a disposable cup from a whole other establishment is one thing.... but if they bring in their own mug or cup, we are required to rinse before we fill... we cannot remove the lid or touch the straw....
Responsible_Snow71092 points7m ago
Yea thats what ye did. He had a disposable paper cup from a convenience store or gas station and it had some coffee residue in it as if he finished the coffee and wanted to get more from starbucks and to save 10 cents lol nastiness. But yea i kno when they bring reusable cups, they have to hold on to the straw/lid while we make the drink in their cup.
The thing is i dont really mind what cup people have from where. As long as its not dirty with mold or dust/lint or coffee residue etc, then whatever but giving us dirty cups is what is nasty
imnotcalmable30 points7m ago
Yep had a customer bring in a cup and say it was a little dirty. I said I could wash it out for her. Gross, moldy milk when I opened it. 🤮
nanobyte5521 points7m ago
Not only is washing it against policy, so is touching the lid!
imnotcalmable13 points7m ago
This was one in a grocery store so our washing out policy is different, but yes I didn’t touch the lid, idk why I typed that I took it off.
nanobyte557 points7m ago
Lol it happens😂 i just want to save you from the nasty.
himemsys3 points7m ago
Yuck! I can’t believe people would even think that’s acceptable!!
TarantulaTeeth13-12 points7m ago
We literally have the easiest tools to quickly clean them, especially if they're a daily customer.. the lowest level of lazy and idgaf that a barista could be is when they refuse to spend the 3 seconds to rinse a guests cup....
clouds183253 points7m ago
damn for following policy jesus
canadiancookie9891 points7m ago
Our store got a bad review because we were talking to the customer (the one writing the review) at the window😭 they said "I would prefer them to not talk to me"
Beverice210 points7m ago
As a introvert who hates customer connections i feel this

Ceramicusedbook60 points7m ago
Yea lol Ours are vile. We have most good reviews but these are the most ridiculous bad ones.
1) "nauseating. not the coffee of course but all these Baristas here are exceptionally obese and overweight. this gives a bad image to startbucks. what it means is essentially 'drink our coffee and become immensely unattractive'. or 'heart attack guaranteed coffee'."
2)" For a company that preaches diversity, very few to no male staff, no male staff today. Very little culture diversity amongst the female staff"
The 2nd is particularly ridiculous because the reviewer goes to the one that just opened in the next town over and Updates his review every time he goes and they're getting worse over the pettiest things... Like the lights being hung at the *wrong* height.
nanobyte5525 points7m ago
Fuck those guys.
SNES18255 points7m ago
“Worst experience ever.” Comic Book Guy, probably.
xXTimbloXx46 points7m ago
“Oh no they followed the rules and it inconvenienced me!”
sixsmallsheep38 points7m ago
one of our reviews says "chicken is dry" but we serve no products at our store with chicken in them
iStealSharpies1 points7m ago
The chicken caprese had some dry chicken sometimes… and the chicken protein box was low key dry. RIP to those 😂
zephyrpriest27 points7m ago
So you admit your cup was dirty
emilyywarner1 points7m ago
so you agree? you think you’re really pretty?
littlebraids26 points7m ago
At my old store I used to work at, there’s a review that says “I asked an employee how much everything on the menu would cost, and she couldn’t even give me a number! Worst experience!” 😂😂
official_koda_24 points7m ago
It’s funny to see reviews that are like “STARBUCKS IS TOO EXPENSIVE!!! NOT GOING TO STARBUCKS ANYMORE!” As if it’s anything related to a specific store. And my store had a bunch of complaints about WiFi issues as if we’re qualified to fix the technology
potterlyfe22 points7m ago
I checked our store reviews one time and it was the best thing ever. We had one barista who loved to sing. Like all the time. She thought she was gods gift to the world and would sing loudly the whole shift. We were all so incredibly annoyed and my manager at the time didn't have much of a backbone and didn't want to say anything that rocks the boat.
The review I found was a customer who straight up called out the singing barista as annoying and not even that good of a singer. He also just ripped her apart and I was loving every minute of it. I showed the review to my manager and finally she spoke to the barista. It was gloriously peaceful after that.
coffee-and-chillll3 points7m ago
I love everything about this lol, I need this for my store. I can’t stand coworkers who sing loudly all day everyday out on the floor
potterlyfe1 points7m ago
Ugh, its just the worst!
I_Main_Oru21 points7m ago
I've checked the reviews before. One was from the grand opening was like "uhmm they were like super slow. 1 star" :')
dallizzlee17 points7m ago
We got this one a few weeks ago lol
“My boyfriend and I came here to claim his free starbucks birthday reward. But we were one day late and they didn’t make the exception of honoring since instructions are unclear on the app. They take their jobs seriously as if they were making 6 figures, disappointing since it is so hyped up”
The system literally doesn’t let us but go off
holtpj16 points7m ago
Barista refused my germs, worst experience ever.
BatWeary11 points7m ago
my favorite review is from an ex partner about how we refused to honor her partner discount (and how she conveniently leaves out the fact she was fired & cussed us out every time she came through)
Accurate-Bumblebee1411 points7m ago
"I aM nEveR cOmInG bAcK HeRe!"
Flat-Whereas30758 points7m ago
Oh no! 😋
sholbyy9 points7m ago
I had someone complain about me bc I wouldn’t take their fast food trash through the drive through window and throw it away for them.
AppointmentLatter3029 points7m ago
Just did and one shift leads I dislike get mention for being a b**** yeah pretty much accurate
sero50748 points7m ago
That’s ducking ripe coming from a bitch wanting her personal coffee cup served when she can ducking do it at home.
borrowedurmumsvcard7 points7m ago
one time I had a homeless looking old guy bring in a tumbler that had dried up gunk that looked like the remains of a latte all over the sides and it smelled awful and literally almost made me gag. I cleaned it out for him in the back and made his drink anyways bc he looked like a mess and I think there was something wrong with his head but still disgusting nevertheless
sakuramads4 points7m ago
My manager literally had to tell a partner next time don't take a dirty cup lmfao
mrcupcake183 points7m ago
Sorry I don’t want to touch a dirty ass cup? Also wow they even admit that they brought a dirty cup and wanted YOU to wash it. What a prick dude lol
larlzmd2 points7m ago
"I ordered a tall late in a grande cup and it was 1/4 empty"
🙃
AuntieRia11282 points7m ago
How could you put a customer through this!!! Now they’ve had the “worst experience”… I bet they won’t even come back, how will you survive without their $3 and cheerful presence?! 💔
dregonzz2 points7m ago
"Hi can you pour coffee directly into my shoe...? No...? Dang worst experience in Starbucks ever!"
Koalastars0092 points7m ago
They sound like the same people that make a mess in a public restroom, don’t wash their hands, and then complain that it’s dirty😑
Zealousideal_Ad_86662 points7m ago
I have this cranky old lady who gets so mad at me when I won’t put her disgusting sweet n low packets from the bottom of her purse in her drink for her. I’m on bar, my hands are clean and I’m making multiple drinks. Either use our sweeteners or put it yourself 🤷🏻♀️
NightAngel11212 points7m ago
I have a bad review about me. By name as well. Of course its the top review of our location when you look us up and she was over exaggerating. I didnt even do what she said I did 🤷♀️
mrcupcake182 points7m ago
Sorry I don’t want to touch a dirty ass cup? Also wow they even admit that they brought a dirty cup and wanted YOU to wash it. What a prick dude lol
MasterMischievous1 points7m ago
I wish this complainer could see this thread, and maybe she’d realize how pathetic and belittling she’s being.
hmarie07161 points7m ago
We have a review where the person at the register in the lobby complains about how a trainer and new employee training on drive thru were “the least bothered” to help him
Joshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh11 points7m ago
I had a very long negative review about me a couple years ago when I first started at my old store, very fun stuff
HarleySpicedLatte1 points7m ago
You did exactly as sbux says. Other option is our reusable cups and pour in theirs. I'm not sure this works for hot coffee as the clear plastic would get too hot
C-o-p-y1 points7m ago
I see you in every Starbucks post it feels like😶🌫️
melkorarose1 points7m ago
My own friend left a bad review 🙃
boyz_with_a_zed1 points7m ago
Plz do my dishes. It's your jahb. Or I'll name and shame you on the internet because I have no personally fulfilling way to spend my time. K thx byeeee
/s
-zooweemama-1 points7m ago
We had to print out the cup policy in case customers asked because people kept getting so mad showing up with their filthy cups
anon_is_no_con1 points7m ago
i love looking at them, it gives me the giggles! one man was mad that we were closed during the great texas freeze and when we were open that we didn’t make our sandwich’s back of house, have we ever advertised that we did??
izzybeee__1 points7m ago
i look at them every so often and the only review that names someone is a bad review for my SM 💀
Stellar-naut1 points7m ago
Get yo back washed coffee out of here!!
diarrheajar1 points7m ago
I love reading our stores reviews
sad--and--cute0 points7m ago
I did it pretty regularly to see how we could improve
TarantulaTeeth13-7 points7m ago
I can't confirm if it's still standard or not, but as far as I know, if a guests requests we put a drink in a specific cup, even if it isn't "clean", we have to comply, but we have to ask them to remove the lid/ straw. And I usually give it a rinse, either way.....
..... if you're a barista, and getting paid at minimum, 15$ an hour, you can rinse their cup and make a drink in it..... you LITERALLY just need to ask them to remove the lid ..... like please God, if you're seriously complaining about HAVING TO BE A DECENT HUMAN while being paid DOUBLE what most 7 digit baristas made starting, like don't get me wrong..... but for real?!?!?
EDIT: Call me a robot, but tbh that's OG Starbucks.... you're literally paid to make customers lives easy and better and supply coffee....
Green leaves be screaming left and right about being expected to do the damn job while getting paid over double what I made as a green leaf.... bruh.....
lilmissambersue2 points7m ago
Everything changed when Covid hit. We are no longer allowed to take a dirty cup. Even if they just purchased it with their drink, it's technically dirty and we can't do it. I've been told over and over again we cannot do it. I find ways to work around it, like I will fill up a steaming pitcher and then pour it into their cup and then wash the steaming pitcher
TarantulaTeeth131 points7m ago
Thanks for the insight! I'll double check with my asm tomorrow, but it hasn't been an issue at my store....
Lol @ the down votes tho. Starbucks isn't for everyone. 🤷🏼♀️
ehart01022 points7m ago
It is specifically policy that we are not to touch customers cups directly, and that they must be visibly clean for us to fill them. I’m with you for the OG legendary service, but we must follow policy. It’s about the safety of other customers as much as it is that of partners.
