my store also had half our shift leads fired in one day. we are also starting the process. it is apparently a thing sbux does every 5 years or so doing a mass firing to make it seem like they enforce everything and to cause fear.

It’s pretty on point. Seen it happen twice in my time with Starbucks and it’s frightening to say the least :/ I hope it does get better for you guys. So be careful with the strike on redcup, from a prior manager I’ve worked with they said that might be grounds for termination if don’t “do it the right way” I never inquired further from that tho :/ good luck and I hope everything gets better for you and your team ❤️‍🩹

I have received some clarification, the official reasons cited were that and “giving out partner beverages/accepting partner beverages even when not working/not 30 minutes before or after a shift”. This entire thing blew up on the heels of one of our SSVs being a shithead and abusing RNR on every register, which set off an investigation. He got fired, which was fine, I never liked him at all, but somehow it also got my SM, and two of my beloved SSVs fired.

Seems like a pretty worthwhile fix for sbux to just make it so you can’t have more than one mark out a week; also to cap/time limit partner beverages *on the system*. It’s scary being alone when doing the whole “making a moment right” thing since I’ve pushed drinks through as free for people who needed it done. It doesn’t even ask me for a reason why… how do I know that sbux would listen to me if they came to me about it? My DM isn’t there when I have paid for the drinks of paramedics passing through since I’m not allowed to give them for free, or for my fellow partners who are not working because of personal stuff. The uppers never seem to be around when you do follow the rules, only when it looks like you’re not. Hell if I’m gonna be moaned at by Carol because her app isn’t letting her have her free bday drink - I don’t get paid enough for that 🙃

People at a store in my district got fired for the same thing. Unfortunately you don’t get a warning for theft and abuse of mark outs is theft.
