when im not feeling up to talking with coworkers when it's slow, i like to find a small task to do and look very dedicated to it. like oh sorry can't talk, im busy uhhh restocking tea bags or wiping down the mastrena. it helps me not feel as out of place and anxious bc i am doing things to be productive, not just standing around feeling uncomfortable.

i totally feel you as a green bean myself. i don’t have so much in terms of advice but no one can hold it against you for not knowing everything with just 3 weeks under your belt, that’s just completely unreasonable. if they’re feeling frustration, then there’s nothing else to do except accept the fact that it is their problem and NOT yours. eventually you’ll get the hang of things and they’ll come around, just give it time. right now is probably one of the best and worst times to be a new hire due to the constant holiday rush, since you’ll barely have time to pick up the basics and your fellow partners might take out some of their stress on you without meaning to, but it’ll also make any other seasonal releases seem like a piece of cake. just keep in mind it won’t always be like this, and hang on tight in the meantime, i believe in you OP :)

My trainer and other baristas who were there when I was training it took them 1-3 months to feel totally comfortable. I've been working for 2 months and it's gotten do much better
