They dump a **lot** on you in the first week so don't sweat it, you'll get it pretty soon! It's all just practice when it comes to making drinks, it took me 3 or 4 weeks before I really started to feel confident in knowing what sizes got how many shots/pumps.

thank you, this is reassuring ❤️

I’ve been here for 6 months and recently figured out that the strawberry cream frap’s classic pump is 1,2,2 and not 2,3,4. You’ll always be learning don’t be afraid to ask questions.

yes, but also the match cream frap is 2/3/4 classic. very confusing.

Ikr I was literally so confused

Espresso shots dying is a myth to make you work faster. Idk just something to keep in mind is work so you don't get fired, not to go the speed of light. We make coffee and someone won't die if they wait an extra second for their overpriced drink. It definitely gets easier because of muscle memory and you kinda know what to expect of a day uwu I have various disabilities that affect my memory but I still sorta got it. If I forget I either ask a coworker, look at the recipe as I'm ringing it up, look at recipe cards, look at mobile, or just say fuck it if it's peak and I'm hoping my memory will come through. Personally, I refuse to study the recipes outside of work because I ain't getting paid for me to study them OUTSIDE of work. but to each their own! Whatever makes you more comfy. I hope all goes well!

It gets better. I was really struggling my first few weeks, but you'll find your footing

thank you ❤️

id say it takes about a month to get comfortable. if you told me 5 months ago when i started that this is how confident i’d be, i would’ve been SO shocked. on my first day when i saw people on bar going so fast i was mesmerized, and now i can do the exact same. you’ll get there!!!
peachyqween111 points7m ago
i'm so happy to hear this, and happy for you too that you grew the confidence so quickly!! ❤️
RepresentativeWeen2 points7m ago
it does, i promise!! it will all eventually feel like autopilot. i felt the same way til i started getting used to it and taking my own personal shortcuts to be quick enough. ive noticed every barista has their own way of doing things quickly and eventually you’ll find yours! it’s a hell of a lot in the first couple weeks but it gets so much easier
peachyqween112 points7m ago
thank you! i'm so glad to hear this ❤️

Me and another girl trained at the same time.
I was immediately put on bar my first day by myself. It is rare in my store. Other partners stay on customer support and oven for a month for experience. However they trained me to be strong and fast and I thrive now but when I started it was so hard.
