How do we go about unionizing our store? (self.starbucksbaristas)

There are several of us in my store that are in favor of unionizing, but have no idea where to start. Some information from those of you that work in union stores would be very helpful! Thank you

hey i know nothing about starbucks specifically but

contact your local union rep, keep talk quiet off premises and amongst yourself. you need majority of staff members to sign, make sur the manager doesn't catch wind of it and sign before they can fire you. your local union rep will have more info

Thanks for your comment. How do I find out who my local union rep is? Also, is it against the rules to discuss unionizing at work?

it is just unwise, do everything you can to avoid union busting until you are ready to pull the trigger.

technically what is against the rules is firing you for discussing a union, but that will not stop them.
​
if any grocery stores are unionized near you, you could ask one of the workers what union they are with (or prob google it)
