Had a 91 half hour today, our store manager called out sick, district manager is not answering us, we are down an oven because one of them is giving us an error message telling us to call it in, started the day with negative prep, and we continue to have 60 half hours. I asked my manager and district manager to please turn off mobiles so we could catch up, and she said it sounded like a normal day so we cant turn mobiles off.
Nothing about our business since holiday launched, has been normal. Literally everyday has been unpredictable. Even our sanity is down the drain.

Ouff, I am so sorry. I might get downvoted but whatever. When I ask for MOP to be turned off and they don’t do it, I just turn off items on Item availability (almost everything). It’ll at least help slow down/deter the MOP Orders. I’m so sorry y’all are going through it. 🫶🏾

I’ve done this and also left the phone off the hook so people can’t call to ask why things are sold out 😅😅 my partners sanity is worth so much more than the business.

YUPPPP, I agree! Disconnecting the phone is a nice touch ahaha. I’ll keep that in mind. 🤫🤭

Update: one of our registers went down
noccybutter11 points7m ago
Write down everything that went down.
Everything.
Every last stupid detail.
And remember your DM has a boss. What a shame it would be if she wasn’t performing her duties to standard and refusing to support a store that needed a little extra.
Remember, you hold more leverage than you think. A store that’s performing with 91 half hours is making MONEY. Big daddy bucks likes money. Big daddy bucks can’t make money if a store like yours isn’t able to provide customers consistent service. A simple thing like turning off your mobiles would have allowed you to focus on the people who were physically at your location, hopefully with assurance that excellent service/product will have them returning.
I’m just saying that a well detailed record of what happened the last time you needed your mobiles turned off the text time you need them off and they refuse again could be pretty useful. I guarantee her boss would be interested to know why they aren’t pivoting during these moments to focus on in-house satisfaction.

Yea, I'm gonna also make a report to ethics and compliance cause this stuff happens all the time
noccybutter1 points7m ago
Ethics and I are bffs. I come from a corporate food restaurant background, and tbh Starbucks is insane in comparison.

A... 91.... What.... 😱 My store record is a 73
ThatBichAlex4 points7m ago
This might not help now, but if the ovens are saying to call them in because out the touchscreen, unplug the oven and plug it back in

and people wonder why Starbucks employees want to unionize…
