Transfer stores. That kind of store culture is not healthy

Your manager should never ever treat u that way for crying on the floor. Literally make a report to your DM. That is horrible treatment i am very sorry.

No, SM did the right thing. If a partner is crying on the floor, they need to:

1: remove themselves from the floor by going to the BoH so they can collect themselves

2: let the SSV/SM know that they need to be off the floor for a few minutes

Then the SSV/SM should decide, taking into account the staffing needs and the emotional state of the crying partner, whether or not to send said partner home. I’ve literally had DMs walk us through this exact situation. That’s the protocol.

Yes youre right but doing it in such an insensitive and unsupportive way is unprofessional

burnout sucks and im really sorry. if you’re comfortable enough, it really sends a message to call in the day before. i recommend calling in, your health is exponentially more important than serving stupid coffee.

A typical full-time job is 5 8-hour shifts back-to-back totaling 40 hours a week. That’s normal. Sbux requires SMs to schedule all partners a minimum of 12 hours a week.

If you can’t handle a full-time job and being a full-time grad student but still want to work at Sbux, change your availability to reflect your needs.

Your SM wasn’t the most eloquent, but your SM is correct. You’re not helping your coworkers if your crying and struggling, and if you’re clearly not emotionally capable of working at that moment, standard procedure is to either give you a few minutes alone in the BoH to collect yourself or send you home (depending on the situation).
