Been at Starbucks for about 3 weeks now. In drive today, someone passed me a fresh venti hot tea that was not double cupped and the lid wasn't secured. It tipped and scalded my hand and forearm.
I went to the back and got help putting on burn cream and sat for a minute to see how bad it was. Determined I can't work with my whole right hand scalded. I ended up going home an hour early ):

Seriously. I had what looked like a small, minor burn til the next day and it took well over a month to heal. Always file a report.. better to have it on file and not need it than to wait past the 48hr limit and be SOL.

I worked at Starbucks for 2 years and never got a chocolate croissant burn, unlike every other batista at my store, some of whom only worked for a couple months
I think there should be "got burned by x number chocolate croissants" and "worst chocolate croissant burn of the year" awards
And a separate one for "did not get burned by chocolate croissant" too

I remember basically pouring hot water all over my hand bc I ✨panicked✨ and couldn’t stop pouring the water. Ended up spending like $40 something in burn cream and bandages to wrap it but never filed a report 😅. Thanks mom and dad for making me feel like needing basic help is a horrible inconvenience that ppl will be angry about lmao

You guys are smart I’ve burn myself twice in one day one because of a brownie and got a bad burn mark and then another because of pike and I still stayed at work despite it hurting like hell.

file an incident report, take care of your hand and do not expose it to similar hot stuff or anything that will arouse the burning sensation
