nothing worse than when you make someone laugh/smile or help them out a ton and they don’t tip 😭 like youre already spending $10 on a drink $1 more wont hurt

Our corporate overlords have taught us that tips are an extra work incentive, when in reality that extra money shouldn’t be coming from the customer, it should be coming from corporate. Food service tipping systems aren’t something we can fix overnight, but it’s a pain that it’s so ingrained into the American food service system that it puts a pressure on the consumer.

If you are nosy but don’t want to awkwardly stare at the card there is a way to see it on the POS. When the receipt (yes/ no) button pops up after accepting the card you can see their drink and food order in the background to the left and then at the very bottom of the items it adds an item called Gratuity if they tip. It shows how much they tipped on the right where the other prices for their items are. You can also see it on the receipt.

I don’t mind if they tip or not. I’ll be nice either way. But I do like writing thank you notes on people’s drinks when they do tip whenever it’s slow

Don’t really care for tips even if I go above and beyond. I’m the opposite I do prefer if customers don’t linger on the register or receiving area lol
