So I’m new to Starbucks.. I have a week today. Any tips on learning to be a better barista/cashier. I feel like I slow my coworkers down by not knowing the buttons to things or not being fast in getting like the black coffees, pastries etc

you’ll get familiarized with where buttons are as time goes on, don’t feel as though you are being a burden by not being the fastest order taker on day 1. we have all had to learn over time

Don’t be afraid to ask for help, use down time during your shift to look at the menu, watch people make drinks when appropriate (don’t lean over them or hover lol).
It all clicks one day, trust me. Your team is there to help you!

DTO is hard in general, if you ever get placed on front practice the buttons there. knowing what drinks are on the main tabs is what helps a lot like “oh i know a latte has espresso in it, so it’s under the espresso tab” so studying recipes can help too
