My store actually ran out of two percent(i.redd.it)

my store runs out of 2% almost every week, our deliveries are usually late too 😭
Delicious-Message-4712 points7m ago
Same and it’s so convenient that there’s a Walmart in our shopping center lmfao
iiiimagery6 points7m ago
We have an heb lol we don't even need to drive
user_undefined_3 points7m ago
Yessss HEB🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Texas❤️
Apprehensive-You52613 points7m ago
Same! About 15 mins after I clicked in on Thursday I see him walk in with a grocery cart full of 2% from Aldi that shares a parking lot with us
anitasdoodles99 points7m ago
The ice machine at my store broke once. I went and got 30 huge bags of ice…..and had to carry them in myself 🥲
MrZeLlama [OP]39 points7m ago
There was a shopping cart in the parking lot that I snagged lmao
pastelldillann23 points7m ago
This happened to us like two weeks ago and the 7/11 next door to us ended up getting furious because we kept buying out all of their ice.
MrZeLlama [OP]18 points7m ago
Weird as they make money off if it lol
pastelldillann3 points7m ago
i know :/ they were assholes to us LMAO like it’s not like we’re taking it for free???? what else do y’all sell ice for????
trmbnplyr199313 points7m ago
Same thing happened at my old store. Bought nearly 500 pounds of ice from a local walmart. Which is equivalent to the amount of free room in a Toyota Prius. And the size of our ice machine.
diphenhydranautical6 points7m ago
we ran out of ice once and sent one of my (sort of new) partners to get some…… he got over $200 worth of ice and a shopping cart to bring it in and it took THREE TRIPS with a full shopping cart to bring it all in 😭
aronelo6 points7m ago
My store’s ice machine broke down in the middle of the summer and we were so understaffed that my manager had me do an instacart order of $100 worth of ice. I felt so bad for the delivery driver, we treated him to a free drink and tipped really well.
absoluteemly6 points7m ago
Yep ours was broken for a week or two just here recently 😅
sushibroni3 points7m ago
THAT HAPPENED TO US TOO we raided all the ice from the gas station next door 😭
bonjourimeric3 points7m ago
This. Our ice machine has been broken for like a week
Shoddy-Trainer-805145 points7m ago
When you work in a big city and run out of milk and we have to run to the closest stores and carry them all in tote bags that we literally keep in the back room for that purpose 😭😭 our arms
rusted176 points7m ago
Get some granny carts yo
Shoddy-Trainer-80514 points7m ago
I told them to get a cart or something for us but they haven’t cause it’s “not standard” to have one. Suck my nuts standard. It’s why I refuse to go out and buy stuff for the store
tourniquette230 points7m ago
I wish this wasn’t a weekly occurrence for us. But it is. We’re literally buying grocery stores out of milk at least once a week. Sometimes twice. Sometimes we use instacart because it’s too busy to let one of us go.
Always stressful. Hopefully it doesn’t become a regular occurrence for y’all too!
BabyH1ppo28 points7m ago
My store is in a Walmart parking lot. You will often see a barista pushing a shopping cart full of milk to our store
billowwark17 points7m ago
we have made two store runs for 2% in the last few days. We have no mocha, wm, peppermint, G/V hot lids, G/V hot cups, small shopper bags, or espresso. rip💀
Assiqtaq15 points7m ago
Back when standard for everything was whole and Starbucks didn't actually order 2% at all, when people ordered 2% milk we just did half nonfat half whole milk. I will still do this if I don't have 2% available. And still will probably unless someone tells me it can make someone have a bad reaction or something.
Kristina-Louise15 points7m ago
Our truck got “lost” somehow and we had to send a barista to three stores today because each store kept cutting off how much milk we could buy 😭
nicolelynnejones12 points7m ago
We did too, despite ordering to par religiously (and having just increased it)
Demand is getting absolutely out of control
gabby246818 points7m ago
So they got…whole?
josiechamp19 points7m ago
So strange. Where I live dark blue is always 2%. Skim is normally light pink or light blue and whole milk is always red!
gabby246813 points7m ago
Same! Didn’t know that wasn’t universal haha
MrZeLlama [OP]5 points7m ago
It's 2%
gabby2468116 points7m ago
That’s wild. Looked red which I now realize it’s pink but I swear every store I go to blue is the universal 2% color. You learn something every day lol.
PrincessBearly3118 points7m ago
One place I get 2% from is a blue lid and another is green. It never makes sense.
OnTheEdge86866 points7m ago
Yeah, my store ran out on red cup day. So that was fun running to the store. Then my mom who also works at Starbucks ran out as well (on red cup day) and the district manager happened to show up so they sent them to go get two percent milk at the store!
lilwebbyboi3 points7m ago
The perks of licensed partner that works in a grocery. We literally just grab milk from the dairy refrigerator & scan it over.
tyanar63 points7m ago
ours did today too😭😭
StrongCurrent98802 points7m ago
Really? First time???
Katerade__2 points7m ago
Yeah we did too, everyone’s missing trucks
Hazel_is_Trans2 points7m ago
We are out of all milk except for non dairy
Calm_Preference62092 points7m ago
This a reg thing at my store 😭
feistybugs2 points7m ago
wish it wasn’t a weekly occurrence for us
Jaded_Fun_71332 points7m ago
That was my store today too
acnh12221 points7m ago
My store runs out of milk every so often but we’re in NYC so none of us have cars. The other day we had to DoorDash over a dozen 2%s 😂
Chromosomes231 points7m ago
Our store uses so much 2% we don’t have room for them to put what we order so we get shorted constantly
unotuchi1 points7m ago
on Saturday we ran out of 2%, whole, oat, and almond 🙃 i hate it here
noccybutter1 points7m ago
My store ran out so much we scheduled an extra person literally to just do pickups and drop offs
mama_bibi1 points7m ago
We run out all the time
emmmeow1 points7m ago
reading this thread and seeing how common it is pains me. across the stores i worked at, it was always milk or ice. even in the stores where we had that double-wide mongo ice machine.
i'm trying to think of other things we've had to buy from the grocery store in a panic. cold cups, half & half, toilet paper....anyone else got any good (bad) ones?
SnoopyCactus9831 points7m ago
Mine had one left in the whole store before they came yesterday to deliver
Acceptable_Rate_27291 points7m ago
We run out pretty much weekly. We have to instacart milk now because we were leaving too often to get it 🤣 last time I had to go to the store and get 20 2%, 10 oat, 10 soy 🤣 I could barely push the cart.
Ok_Beautiful_40561 points7m ago
Our store runs out of 2% frequently 🥲
Forever__emo1 points7m ago
We were shorted milk this entire week. So we’ve had to buy every day
Emotional-Rate-83911 points7m ago
It's a Christmas miracle.
CamdenF1 points7m ago
That poor guitar.
MrZeLlama [OP]1 points7m ago
Agreed
tulip_problems1 points7m ago
My store ran out of 2% everyday for like 4 months. Got paid so many hours of running around a grocery store. Amazing haha
Exciting-Advice-9481 points7m ago
my store is a kiosk in a grocery store so thankfully we don’t even have to leave. we just go into the store transfer it over to our department with the computer system and voila!
Ann-Drogyny1 points7m ago
Same. We ran out of 2%, heavy cream, and regular cream today. 😭 Went to the store twice!
Rista-ren1 points7m ago
Mine also did. We were making everything with whole milk all day
hlycml1 points7m ago
Opened today. Didn’t have 2%, heavy cream and skim milk. Oh we also ran out of grande hot cups and lids. FML
nakedavocado1 points7m ago
We've run out twice this month. Our customer count has been obnoxious. My store just subbed whole until the order came in a few hours later.
ithinkimanpc1 points7m ago
haha my store had to do this today at 7am. got 35 gallons, first time i’d seen that made me lol
devvobruh1 points7m ago
same, we got some today but 86 were frozen and had to be thrown out 🥲
testingaurora1 points7m ago
Rip those guitar strings
littlebraids1 points7m ago
Oof we’ve all been there
kingfreaks1 points7m ago
This is a multiple times a week thing for our store

Welcome to sbx lol
bonjourimeric0 points7m ago
Oh first time?
mewwissa-34 points7m ago
Ngl if my coffee was made with a milk that was touching the bottom of someone’s vacuum…I’d be pissed 🤢💀
rocketeeri32 points7m ago
girl it’s not like the milk was sucked up into the vacuum and spit back out into your latte
MrZeLlama [OP]29 points7m ago
It's touching the milk jug, I'd be more concerned with the baristas that don't wash their hands enough, or the milk pitchers that don't get rinsed well, or the steamer wand that doesn't get wiped and steamed before the next steaming
kimchichii-1 points7m ago
Had to scroll too far down for this. Thought I was the only one thinking that was a lil gross.
mewwissa0 points7m ago
I’ll take my downvotes gladly. Do people not realize that germs can travel and move? You put your hand on the cap that touched the bottom of the vacuum, then proceed to make a drink with your vacuum bottom hand. Not saying someone will die from it but it’s definitely disgusting to think about.
lilwebbyboi3 points7m ago
The delivery trucks the milk comes off of are worse.
Affogatho1 points7m ago
do you think people put their bare hand in your beverage...
