Had someone stick a camera in my face today for the first time(self.starbucksbaristas)

How do you all handle when someone does that? I refused service and asked him to leave. He was upset because is kids didn’t like the white hot chocolate and wanted me to “remake them properly”. I asked him if he would like a refund instead and he said yes. He tries to cut the line and I asked him to wait because someone was before him. When I got to helping him he told me to “fix my face”. I let him know if he continues to be disrespectful I will ask him to leave. He said “soon as I get my refund I’ll leave.” Continues to mumble insults to his wife and asked for my name, I told him I don’t feel comfortable giving out my name to someone so hostile. When I processed the refund I looked up to a camera in my face. I then asked him to leave.

File an incident report. I’m sorry that happened, you didn’t deserve that at all.

I didn’t realize I could file an incident report about this thank you for telling me!

my sm told me to always file an incident report for any situation where you feel a customer was unreasonable and may file a formal complaint to corporate. that way you can cover your tracks and won't have to risk possibly getting in trouble for something that you handled correctly. depending on your dm's attitude they could potentially take the customer's side if their allegations against you are severe enough and they have no proof of your response

This is great advice! Always get your side of the story documented before the customer calls and complains. It gives a proper perspective to the whole situation and will help keep you out of trouble.

Happened to me before :(. This lady said she wanted two of the same fraps in the drive thru, gets to the window, pays, and then says she only wanted one. I get called over and do the refund for the one drink, I process the refund and have the money ready to hand out, and then I open the window. I open the window to her pointing a camera at me and yelling at me. She was like ‘MHMMM GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. SHE’S WAS TRYING TO TAKE MY MONEY’ I was like ‘…huh????’ And had the most confused look on my face. She proceeded to yell more/point the camera at me and I just said ‘here is your refund, have a nice day’ and closed the window. Looking back on it I laugh a little because she really thought she was doing something and I bet anyone who watched that video was like ?? This girl is stupid. I was genuinely confused and kept my cool the whole time so it’s obvious I was doing my job/in the right lol

Yea nobody in their right mind would watch that video and be on her side like "you go girl!" Especially when her camera/video starts like pretty much as ur guna be handing the refund over lmao people are ill
happypoptart02 points7m ago
Exactly!! You could tell I genuinely had no clue as to what was going on so the reaction she wanted to get from me didn’t happen because I was like ????? HUH? I’m literally giving you the refund right now lol
Responsible_Snow71091 points7m ago
Yea lmao she cant start recording and say something and then have the camera showing u acting confused and kindly giving the refund to them and then expecting anybody to even take her side when theres no context and itll probably just be her acting nuts in the beginning before recording u

When I had a camera pointed on me, it was when I was on window one night. This truck full of kids parked far away from the window, and the driver got out and walked up to the window. All 4 passengers were filming and laughing. I was uncomfortable, and I have social anxiety/confrontation issues, but at this time I told them i don’t want to be recorded, and if they can’t respect that, they can leave, and closed the window.

I had some lady in the passenger seat filming once. She didn’t like that we had to charge her for a custom tea when she wanted a trenta water with syrup and inclusions. She was arguing with the person taking the order so I took over as the shift and I saw the camera. I knew I wasn’t in the wrong but it is definitely bothersome and intrusive. I filed an incident report.
