Do anyone else’s ears ring from the headsets?(self.starbucksbaristas)

I got off work over two hours ago and my ears are still ringing. Fun times. Probably should turn down the volume on them in the future. Also, unrelated but I hear the drive-through ding for when a car is there as I’m falling asleep, is that one just me too?

Five year partner here. I noticed over time my ears would be doing this too. What I found to help was to switch headset sides each shift. I was used to exclusively having it on the right side of my head so this was a weird adjustment, but it did help lessen how often this happens.

I work with so many people who keep the headset volume at the absolute maximum. I don’t understand it. I turn the volume down almost completely, and can hear every customer just fine. Meanwhile I can be on the other side of the store without a headset but still hear the customers through everyone else’s headsets.

i think my hearing might be going bad because i have to put the volume at max and sometimes i still have to press the headset against my ear to be able to hear the customers

Volume down will help too. Turn it up if you're struggling to hear, but try to keep it somewhat lower on the norm.
